My fiance’s sister is 15 years old and not really interested in talking to me. She’s very conservative and reserved and I’ve never done anything to offend her but I think she thinks I’m taking her brother away (Him and I are 31 and 30).
Of course I want to have her in the wedding, she is his only sibling. I was thinking about having her be a junior bridesmaid. Walk after the flower girl, have a more conservative dress and not come with us for pictures. It wouldn’t be appropriate for her to come with us since she’d be the only child and we want to be able to be, do and act however we want.
Is it okay to ask her to be a junior bridesmaid and have those restrictions? That’s if she even wants to be in the wedding lol

What are you doing for pictures that wouldn’t be appropriate for her? I think I’m missing something…
When I was a junior bridesmaid in my mom’s wedding I was that age, maybe a little younger. I wore almost exactly the same dress as everyone else (I’d change it if it was strapless or something, though) and I came along for everything but the bachelorette party. I didn’t have real wedding responsibilities, though, like bridesmaids do a lot.

I think 15 is too old to be a junior bridesmaid. Junior Bridesmaids are typically 7-14. Why would going for pictures be inappropriate? What goes on during your photo sessions? She’s 15, not 6. It’s not like you would need a babysitter for her.

Haha yes it would be like we would have to babysit her. She would probably be upset if we’re drinking. We want to be able to act like the adults that we are. She is very conservative and reserved and honestly I don’t think she wants to be a part of it anyway

@Sarabara590: If your not sure she really wants to be a part of it, can you give her another duty? Like a short reading or greater for the ceremony?

My 12 year old cousin was my junior bridesmaid. The only thing she didn’t participate in the day of the wedding was when the wedding party went to a martini lounge for a drink right after the wedding. She was great during the wedding party pics, etc. and was happy to be part of the whole thing. I’m glad I included her in my wedding. All of my bridesmaids wore mismatched dresses, and I got a pretty flower belt for her to wear.

@auggiefrog: She’s actually an amazing singer and we will definetly be asking her to sing in the wedding
