Lots of times I wear bands alone. I find it easier and the older I get I’m starting to appreciate the simple things more! I remember your asscher it was beautiful but I dont remember what band you chose. Do you mind sharing?tduck1 :

I’m the opposite because what was originally meant to be my engagement ring became my wedding ring (we skipped the engagement and just got married). So I have a cushion diamond halo ring as my wedding ring and wear that on its own. I got a more simple wedding band type ring to wear when I was pregnant because my actual wedding ring wasn’t fitting me. I thought I would wear them as a set after the pregnancy, But I honestly prefer my cushion halo ring on its own, so that’s what I do. It’s good to be different I think!

tduck1 :  So you are wearing the wideband asscher as a standalone ring and it doubles as your band? It is a pretty ring! I must have misunderstood I thought you meant plain wedding bands or low profile bands without a solitaire or engagement type ring.

I originally got an engagement band (no center stone) and got a traditional engagement ring months later. So I generally only wear my engagement band and wedding band and the engagement ring rarely makes an appearance. It’s just much easier to go band only.

I have a friend who is the opposite, she never wanted a band so only wears an e-ring.

l’m always being disappointed when people say ’emerald’ and then l find its just shorthand for emerald cut  lol . I love ( natural) emeralds above all stones.

I really only wear my engagement ring to work (not even every work day, at that) and on date nights. From 5 pm-7:30 am the following day (and all weekend, short of date nights), it’s band only. I adore my engagement ring, both because my husband proposed with it and because I inherited the diamond from my family, and I enjoy it when I wear it. But, if we hadn’t had the option of that, I probably would have skipped an engagement ring altogether. There’s something so egalitarian and romantic to me about plain matching bands.

tduck1 :  Oh ok so I was correct ! I love your flat pipe cut band. I have a variety of bands with and without stones and I wear them instead of an engagement style ring around 90% of the time!

tduck1 :  I love my e-ring, but I often only wear my band if I’m going to be cooking or doing something else with my hands, or it just works better with my outfit.  I have a silicone ring that I also wear to the gym and other such places.  I think just a plain band often looks really pretty.

I recently changed to bands. And oh goodness! Being stoneless has been so much easier going about daily tasks. Now I definitely miss the sparkle of my stones, but I’m not constantly taking caution on what/where my solitaire may come into contact with, be it my sweater or a counter top ledge.
