You just need the knife.  That’s the only thing that shows up in pictures anyway, I think!

We didn’t have a special set.  We used a knife from the location on our cake.

We just bought a knife and a pair of matching small forks from Cost Plus, we never even thought to use a server!

I didn’t plan on buying a cake cutting set either. I was just gonna get a knife from the kitchen at our venue. Maybe put a ribbon on it. Future Mother-In-Law has her knife/cake server from her wedding. It is engraved with her and FFIL’s names and wedding date. Future Sister-In-Law used it at her wedding last year and it is engraved with their info now as well. So Future Mother-In-Law asked if we’d like to use it at our wedding and add our engraving too. So now it’s like the family cake knife. Cute, sentimental and I don’t have to buy a knife I am gonna use for like 5 mins!

we just used what the caterer provided.  nothing special.  a knife alone will be just fine.

You can probably just use a knife. Sometimes people just use a server (cake cuts easily!)

I think you might be fine with just the knife or borrow one from the caterers.  We actually didn’t have a special set of cake knife/server, they just provided us with something at the reception site.

Yes, you can just use the knife. I think it usually comes in a set so you can use it for fancy dinner parties or something later.
