That’s a little over the top in my opinion but I want to do the letters thing every 10 years.  In my opinion those are meant to be private and not waived around during the ceremony, that’s what’s vows are for

@corasong:  Agreed.  I went to a ceremony where they did this.  I’d heard of it before and thought it sounded like a good idea.  But when they did the ceremony it was a really sobering moment…followed by silence punctuated by the pounding of a hammer.  Was kind of awkward.

Also, I can’t imagine what I’d write in a letter like that that would seem to have much meaning after years of marriage that were so bad we were considering splitting up

Fiance and I homebrew, so we will be making the wine that will go in the box. I don’t like the “during hard times” bit. It will be opened at our 5 year anniversary. We’re still deciding what kind we’ll make.

@labradorlover:  Of course!  I bought it on Etsy (I’m a little bit obsessed!).  Unfortunately the store owner is on vacation right now so you’re unable to look at her stock but I’m attaching the link to her store.  It was a bit on the pricey side, but we’re displaying it at home now so we wanted something pretty.  We also liked that it was able to be reused throughout the years!  I would definitely suggest buying from her – wonderful product and very high quality!
