Oh my gosh eeeeeeek! I couldn’t live without my engagement ring, I just love wearing it as a symbol! You are allowed to vent!!!!

I think you should tell her as soon as possible as she is the jeweller it would make it much worse if you were to take them to another jeweller to get them unsoldered? I am sure she has done it out of the kindness of her heart.

Maybe she has an old tradition I have personally never heard of this happening such a long time before the wedding so be careful not to offend.

That sounds frustrating.

Im sure she was just tring to help but clearly didn’t think about the fact that the wedding is 12months away! I would be getting them unsolered, besides you may just want to wear your wedding band seperately down the track and you wont be able to do that… i would just have a chat with her and tell her how you feel and the reason why so hopefully she understands.

I would be pissed!! Did you want them soldered eventually at least?

At the same time, I’m jealous you will have a jeweler in the family Smile

Ugh, I’d hate to be in your situation. If it were anyone but family I’d pitch a fit that they did something without permission and make them put it back, pronto, but family complicates things.

Have you thought about getting a stunt ring for the year you’ve got left, just to have something as a place-holder?

Personally, I would wear it anyway.

I would throw that puppy on my finger and wear it! It’s beautiful and what a shame it would be for it to sit in a box for a whole year because of a silly mistake!

Take it to someone else and get them carefully separated. I don’t understand why she would do that, that’s kinda rude. You are supposed to be wearing it and enjoying being engaged, and I agree about wearing the wedding band after the ceremony, it’s traditional.

Then I would just wear them as they are honestly- I try to wear my band ALL the time just for the fun of it. Fiance gets annoyed by it but accepts my obsession 🙂 & you have the PERFECT excuse now!
