Every wedding does not have a grooms cake (its more of a southern thing). Its totally fine to have one cake.

I don’t get “the grooms cake”. It’s just not something I’ve ever seen at a wedding and I was really surprised when I got engaged and starting hearing so much about them! Maybe they’re just not common in Canada? Anywho, we’re not having one, but we are having a late night cake buffet (more for me than FI).

Nope, definitely not. I think it could be a fun touch and I know Darling Husband was thrilled at the idea of him getting his OWN personal cake. But it wasn’t in the budget and we were just fine with the one wedding cake 🙂

no, you def don’t need one. I’m doing one though because i think they are fun and i think it will be a nice surprise for my Fiance. Not sure if we’ll have it at the rehearsal dinner or at the reception. 😀

We didn’t do one.  I thought since our cake was 3 layers and 3 different flavors, that would be enough.  And my husband liked our cake anyways, so it didn’t make sense to pay for a 2nd one.  Do whatever makes you happy!

Yeah, if its not common in your area, nobody will miss it. I’m considering getting a small cheesecake for my groom (literally, probably a cheap grocery store one) since its his favorite, but haven’t decided for sure.

Fi doesn’t like cake, so we are having a small one to cut for us and then a dessert buffet with his favorites and a rice krispy cake as the “grooms cake”. It’ll have a couple teirs so it looks like a real cake.

I don’t think I have ever been to a wedding with a grooms cake except my sisters…they don’t seem to be common here.

We didn’t have one and I’ve never been to a wedding that did.

I’m having one…to look like the Ford emblem, because Fiance is a mustang fanatic. I’ve never been to a wedding that DIDN’T have one…haha.
