I’m so sorry… I don’t think too many people take that into consideration.  I have friends that have openly shared their miscarriages on Facebook (multiple miscarriages), and they are so brave – it also helps spread awareness.  Many people don’t understand just how common they are.

I hope you have a better day, darling!

Ryansgirl:  I think a lot of people don’t think about a miscarraige before they announce so early.  Maybe it’s great to “raise awarness” of how frequent they are, but I really will want some time to grieve quietly if it happens, so it’s not for me.  I have told Darling Husband the rule is that we are not telling anyone who we don’t want to go into the gritty details with.

Ryansgirl:  It is a very personal detail, and to be honest, I think having a baby is too!  However, I understand the grief behind a miscarriage that makes it so much more difficult than people can imagine.  I already decided that I don’t want to announce my pregnancy until I’m at least 3 months in.  I don’t want people making a big deal about it.  I’m not even sure if I’ll announce it on Facebook.

isnt there an unsubscribing thing you can do, instead of delete her babe??

I had to ‘unsubscribe’ to someone so i never saw any of his posts, statuses, etc??

Im not sure if thats still available but it was when i still had fb!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Misswhowedding:  I 100% agree with the grieving quietly part.

I despise FB and I think it has corroded our society and enabled oversharers!! Needless to say, I am not on FB lol. At any rate, I wouldn’t make a public announcement before the 1st trimester was complete.

Aside from the chance of a miscarriage, eight or nine long months is just a very long time to subject your friends and family, to every. single. update. on your pregnancy.  By the time the baby is born, it may seem like old news!
