Well…possibly my dream job 🙂
Yesterday I interviewed at one of my favorite historic places in Charleston and today I accepted the Education Management Position! I have a TEAM (ok 2 people but it’s exciting to me) and I get to make my own hours – which the standard is only 32 but I get full-time benefits and vacation from the get go! I’ll get to help with organizing field trips, creating our touring program, and have a hand in new exhibits! It’s like everything I want to do rolled into one bundle of happy and they are paying me more than I asked for to do it! Quitting my job 2 weeks ago was the best decision of my life!
Darling Husband doesn’t get home until 6pm but I had to share with someone! Time to celebrate!

That’s great! I was just wondering the other day what had happened with your old job, and I went back and realized you had updated later that day. Sounds like it all worked out!

I am so happy for you 🙂 It sounds amazing compared to that last job you had!!!

That’s awesome! Can I ask what kind of degree you have for that? That’s kind of my dream job too…. After the wedding I really want to look into finding a new job. Something like that or event planning is exactly what I’d love to do!

I am beyond excited. This has been a goal for me for awhile but being in my last job I never felt like I had time to look for this type of thing or really even hope that I could find something like this. Right after college it was so rough and everyone told me I needed 30+ years experience!
@Robin_Sparkles: I have a BA in History & BA in American Studies, I minored in Arts Management, and I have a Masters in Education with a certificate in Museum Education. Which feels like a perfect match for this new position!

I just read the other thread where you said you quit your job and now look at you! I have been waffling with leaving mine for several months now…the people are nice but the work is not for me. This is inspiring me a little…
