My motivation is knowing how great skinny feels. I plan on rocking an itty bitty white bikini on the beach during the week of our destination wedding. Thats what works for me. Im down 8 lbs since Dec 2nd. Weighed in at 117lbs today. I feel amazing!!!

I hear ya lady – I’m in the same boat.  But my fiance is totally on board to get our asses in gear too, which is good because he’s gained like 30-40 lbs in the past few years, yikes!!!  We just got back from a vacation where we ate and drank whatever we wanted for 3 weeks (eek), but we’re literally starting a diet and exercise plan TODAY.  We’re doing the South Beach, which is pretty reasonable and focuses on lean protein, non-starchy veggies, and limited fruit / whole grains.  Also focusing on interval cardio, weight lifting a few days a week, and yoga a few days a week.

For me, in general it helps to 1) know what works and have faith in it (like you do) and 2) imagine how regretful I’ll feel at my wedding if I know I could have gotten slimmer and more toned, but just didn’t feel like bothering…

We can do this!

Basically my motivation is: Saturdays.

Sun-Fri, my boyfriend and I eat really well, bust our butts in the gym, count calories… and the on Saturday? We let ourselves relax. I feel like I genuinely EARNED it. I let myself eat whatever I want. And then when Sunday comes around again, I go right back to the diet, and look forward to the next Saturday.

Plus, I weigh myself EVERY.SINGLE.MORNING. I know that could drive some people nuts, but, I love having a lot of data… so it’s really rewarding to see a consistent downward trend as the weeks go on. (I use MyFitnessPal, I love the charts!)

They say that it takes 21 days to create a habit and I agree; it’s so easy to count calories and go exercise now. I don’t even have to “force” myself to do it.

@Kings7911:  It was pretty hard for me… but hell, if I can do it, anyone can! (I’m looking to lose 50-70lbs.) My downfall is sweets… I can easily knock out a pint of ice cream or a bag of M&Ms. I just try to keep my eye on the prize (and look forward to my freebie Saturdays!)

@Kings7911:  You CAN get there!!! I started at 125 at the beginning of December. I am doing the Advocare products but its basically the Paleo diet. I absolutely love it more than South Beach (I did that a few years ago). I just realized you dont eat meat anymore so Paleo would be difficult for you although Im sure it can be done.

@lolot:  Ha!  We did the same thing over Xmas vacation!!  I am back down 6 pounds since Jan 2nd!  LOVE vacations though! ๐Ÿ™‚

@Kings7911:  You can totally do it!  Diet is 80%!!  I use myfitnesspal as a guide, I don’t necessarily log food religiously and that helps out a ton!  No obsessing!  If you want to add me on myfitnesspal then my username is the same!
