Charliejeorge :  I find the fit and flare to be unquestionably more flattering. The a-line, with its less distinct shape, makes you look wider and larger than you actually are.

You have a nice hourglass, and hiding that in an a-line almost always makes a person look heavier. Accentuating the waist-to-hip ratio is slimming, and you don’t look lost in the dress.

I also like the neckline and back on that gown better. Once it’s properly fitted, it will show a good amount of cleavage without having too much on display.  The full lace back is also just prettier to me, than the open illusion style.

I understand being uncomfortable with the idea of a style. I swore UP AND DOWN I would NEVER buy a strapless gown… and of course, that’s what I ended up looking best in.

I think if you have a dress that fits properly, along with some shapewear to add a bit of structure, you will be a knockout in the first dress. No question.

Both options are lovely! I’m sorry you are struggling with body image- trust me I know the feeling- but you have a great figure and both dresses suit you well. I voted for the fit and flare because I think it highlights your hourglass figure better! The lace detailing is beautiful and I love the illusion back & cap sleeves.

I personally would not add the sparkly belt as I actually feel like it takes away from the beauty of the dress and looks to cut you rather than elongate you.

    Good luck!!

LOVE the fit & flare on you! It really plays great with your shape and I prefer the lace on that one as well. I’m 50/50 on the belt, I like the idea of one but maybe not that particular belt.

Dress sopping is such a chore but you really knocked it out of the park with the fit and flare!

I agree with PP. Your waist is everything in the fit and flare 😍

I prefer the A line on you. I don’t think the fit & flare compliments your figure as much.

    I voted fit & flare,

because why hide your beautiful shape.

BUT!! If you do not feel confident, and you feel much more comfortable and happy in the A-line, that one is beautiful too and I think the most important thing is that you feel fully confident!

I voted for the A-line, but I tend to be drawn more to A-lines than fitted gowns. I also prefer the straps on the A-line! And honestly, comfort is EVERYTHING to me.  You look beautiful in both though and I think you should go with whichever makes you happiest!

For me it’s the fit-n-flare no question: I prefer pretty much everything about it. The silhouette, the shape of the cap sleeve, placement of lace on the illusion back, the shape of the illusion panel, the hem and train.  Just all around more graceful shapes and details to my eyes.

I too am on team no belt though, but I’m almost always no team no belt.

    Fit and Flare.  No belt.
