I like to mix blueberries into some ricotta cheese with a little honey, vanilla extract, and topped off with walnuts. My favorite lunchtime dessert!
Last night when I was packing my lunch, I noticed some of the blueberries had mold growing on them. So I went through and picked them out, then re-washed the rest of the berries.
I thought I tasted a little mold in some of the initial bites, but convinced myself I was crazy. So I kept eating. The last bite I had was definitely moldy, so I spit it out.
Here’s to hoping I don’t get sick!

@MichiganGirl24: Uhk thats so gross!!! I would say you’re fine, if you’re asking…but could have an upset stomach or something like that?
I’m a huge stickler for expiration dates and sell by/freeze by!

@BellaDee: I usually do the smell test instaed of going by expiration dates, as a lot of time things are totally okay to eat for a few days after the date.
No tummy ache… yet!

@MichiganGirl24: Meh, you’ll most likely be fine. It tastes bad but it’s usually not harmful so I wouldn’t worry about it.

@MichiganGirl24: You should be fine – if anything, you’ll just give your immune system some exercise. 😉

@MichiganGirl24: Gross, but, most mold that grows on fruit won’t hurt you. 🙂
