My husband and i went there in July for our honeymoon!  We also stayed at the Hilton Moorea…but Pearl Beach in Bora Bora.  We loved it!   The Hilton was great (we stayed in a garden bungalow) but the roosters were VERY loud!  Also, the patio areas attached to the bungalow aren’t very private.  The crape bar is wonderful, but only open at night if I recall (makes for a great “inexpensive” dinner).  Our package included breakfast (thank goodness) but had to pay for it on our first morning (I think it was close to $80 for our breakfast that morning!).  Let me know if you have any questions!

In Moorea we did a lagoon tour (sting ray, sharks and lunch on a motu).  It was pretty cool, I think we did it through Albert tours.  We also rented a car one day and drove around the island.  It was nice for us to cruise around the island at our own pace and check out the sights.  We also ate at yummy, super low key (basically a car port) pizza place called Pizza Daniel.  YUM!

In Bora Bora we did a snorkel/lagoon tour with reef discovery (Christoph is great!).  This is a much different trip than the one in Moorea, more personal and way less touristy.  I am glad we did both.  Also in Bora Bora we did a 4×4 tour.  We planned to rent a car but it didn’t work out (everything is closed on Sunday!).  We were glad it didn’t work out because we really enjoyed the 4×4…a fun way to see the island!

We’re Honeymooning at Four Seasons Bora Bora next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So excited.  I’m looking for food advice though – I hear it can be like $200/person/meal.  guess it will be a good diet????????:-)

You do know that Bora Bora and Tahiti (your subject line) are two different islands, right?  They’re both in the French Polynesian, but totally different honeymooning spots.  I think you chose the right one.  Yay Bora Bora!!!

@pooks75: YAY I am so super excited for you. FH and I are spending 5 days at the Hilton Moorea and 5 days Le Meridien Bora Bora.  We’re going in February and after reading Mrs Lobsters post from earlier today and seeing personal pix of Hilton Moorea, holy excitement Laughing

I vacationed in Tahiti and Bora Bora for a week.   I’ll recommend you to pack snacks:  bars, nuts, beef jerky, crystal light packs.. etc.  As pooks75 mentioned, there is a small market in south of Bora Bora but unless you are staying one of the resort that is off the mainland, i’m not sure how you’ll get there.

Also, if you have very sensitive equilibrium (like I do), make sure to take Dramamine throughout your stay on OWB.  Although I took it twice a day, I got sick after first night and on…. even one week after I got back.

I’m so excited for you guys!!! you will have a great time.

@youngliz: thank you so much for mentioning Dramamine for the OWB.  I hadn’t thought of that and I get motion sickness pretty easily. My SIL told me to take some Starbucks instant coffee packets as well as the things you mention above.
