I have two dresses but they are both wedding dresses, one is lace and silk, super formal with a long train. I got another that is super fun one strap for the reception.

I bought that dress for my rehearsal dinner and I also wore it on my honeymoon! I love it on you! Great backup dress choice.

I was 8 1/2 months pregnant at my wedding. I changed as early as I could and my dress was organza. I found mine at TJ Maxx for $10!

I obviously cannot speak with certaintly about every style of dress or every fabric, but what I found in trying on gowns is that anything made of polyester was outrageously hot and made me sweat.  The silk gowns, made of natural fibers, did not. (Since satin is actually a finish and not a fabric, I don’t know whether your gown is polyester or silk.)

I got married in July in South GA – I felt like I had to buy a smaller dress. I did not want to go around all afternoon in a ball gown. This is the dress I wore:

OP – I love your dress! I work at JCP and I see it everyday haha. It’s too cute! So is yours @misskoala – I adore the feathers. Was your “actual” wedding gown a similar style?

Tons of people do reception dresses for this reason. Yours is awesome!
