MsBeer:  I did Jillian’s 30 DS just before my wedding and LOVED the results. I’m pretty fit (at the time I was running a lot) so I’m not sure how many pounds I lost total. Maybe 3-4. But I loved how my body looked. I was at my college weight and looked GREAT! Although, I have to say that I was doing it on top of about 20 – 30 mins of cardio (elliptical, nothing too strenuous). I think what really makes a difference with the 30 DS compared to other workouts is the strength training. So many women skip strength and that’s what gives you the really good results that you’re looking for. So stick with it! It’s totally worth it.

MsBeer:  I have to restart now, but I LOVED 30 Day Shred. I am a big girl, and I won’t say it was easy, but I thought for me it would be more challenging. I didn’t expect to make it past week one.

Well, I did make it past week one, spent an extra week on week 2, and then quit because I found out I was pregnant, but here is my progress before and after week 2 of 30DS.

I really didn’t lose much weight, but I seriously toned up, especially my stomach and arms. I can’t wait to start it again!

MrsRight:  I couldn’t agree more about strength training. Jillian’s ‘no more trouble zones’ really focusses on strength over cardio and whilst I find it challenging my arms and shoulders have never ever been this toned in my life and I’ve even got a tiny bit of definition on my stomach which I have never had!

I have used the 30 day shred for about 2 years.  I initially bought it when I was working in Western canada away from my family and fiancee and decided it was a good time to try to lose some weight.  I did the video every.single.day for about 5 weeks in my hotel room before I went to bed.  I was also really watching what I ate and I lost about 20 pounds.  I am getting married in six weeks and do this video every day, in addition to some of the arm toning videos I have found on Youtube. Weird thing is though, I have NEVER done level 3! haha

MsBeer:  I am ashamed to say that I’ve owned this DVD for over a year and have not started it. As in, it’s still in shrink wrap so I’m following this thread as motivation as well!  I did purchase some hand weights recently (finally), so I’m slowly getting there. ๐Ÿ˜‰

To be fair, I do watch what I eat and choose healthy foods but I know I need more exercise than my twice daily walks with my pup.

glasgowgirl:  GREAT tip! After 30 DS I started P90X and saw great results for the same reasons. But Tony Horton gets so old after a while. Jillian and I really had a bond. ๐Ÿ˜‰ So I’m stoked to hear she has longer strength videos! I’m gonna go home and do that one tonight!

Celine24:  Level 3 is my favorite! I actually find that level 2 is harder for me. Don’t be scared! Try level 3!!

I did it about 4 years ago and with a change in my diet I lost about 30 lbs! Don’t get me wrong, I haaaaaaaated it and did the modified moves a lot of the time but I really liked the results. I’m now starting the P90X30 series and am also prepared to die lol!

MsBeer:  Buy a soft tape measure (the kind they sell at fabric stores) and take your measurements once a week.  Even when the scale wasn’t budging I was able to see a difference in my measurements every week.

Oh and be careful with you knees; make sure to warm them up and drink plenty of water before every workout.  Her workouts are really tough on your knees.  She will give you tips on how to avoid injury to your knees so make sure to follow them.

I bought this DVD about 4 years ago to get ready for a trip (plus was going to the gym), and I always felt stronger afterwards. However, I really only did Phase 1 and never touched the other 2 at all. I did watch Phase 2 once, and thought that Phase 1 was harder – but that may just be me.

I do still incoporate it in my workouts if I don’t make it to the gym, or just need to do something quick at home to burn some calories. I feel it’s a great overall workout – combining cardio, strength and core.

I always tell people to go get it, if they’re looking for something quick to do at home!

I agree with those commenting on Jillian’s No More Trouble Zones video. I am able to use it through my Amazon Prime subscription. It’s awesome! They are using 3 lb weights in the video, but I use 5. It makes it pretty tough, but you see better results and faster. After only a couple weeks, I noticed a big difference in the dreaded “back fat”!

I’m in level 3 of the 30DS right now, I love it! It’s awesome! I’ve lost about 6 pounds so far, and inches as well. I’m the most toned I’ve ever been and it’s amazing! I also do about 50 mins of cardio in the morning as well. Since I’m almost done this one, and I’m getting pretty sick of hearing the same things over and over again I’m going to move onto another one of her DVDs next week. Either Ripped in 30 or No More Trouble Zones. I’ve actually even moved down a notch on my belt!!

MrsRight:  I agree, I like level 3 the best too! And I even find it a bit easier than level 2!
