I’m back and married! Everything was perfect. All of those small details that I slaved over for months finally came together and looked phenominal. I can’t even express how many compliments I got throughout the night and after. The photobooth that Fiance Darling Husband (that’s going to take some getting used to!) and his Dad built was beyond amazing. Everyone had an awesome time in it. We even have some people interested in renting it but I don’t know if we’ll go that route.
The only regrets I have are the bar and the fact that I felt VERY sick towards the end. The bartender screwed up and started charging our guests for their beer and wine that should have been part of the open bar. We prepaid for X amount of bottled beer and wine and then were supposed to be charged at the end of the night for whatever else everyone consumed beyond that. Well, I guess she didn’t get that memo or simply didn’t care since even after I set her straight, she was still charging our guests. I’m actually embarassed since it looks like we cheaped out and only supplied a small amount of alcohol when in reality that wasn’t supposed to be the case. To make matters worse, guests who were particularly close to us and knew that we would be having a limited open bar didn’t think to bring any cash and the bar didn’t take credit cards. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now. On the bright side, we saved ourselves a couple hundred bucks so that’s cool I guess.
As for being sick, I think it was a combination of being in my very tight dress for 8+ hours and the fact that we ate Mexican for our Rehearsal Dinner and it didn’t seem to sit well with me (or my MOH). I was only able to choke down a few bites of our amazingly delicious dinner and I couldn’t even touch the cake. I tasted it when we cut it but I didn’t really get to eat very much. We brought the top layer home and I think we’re going to use it as my MIL’s birthday cake for her bday tomorrow.
We won’t have our pro pics back for about a month and I haven’t gotten any guest pics yet but I’ll be sure to post some as soon as I do. We do have the photobooth pics which I’ll post after we get a chance to pull them off the other laptop.
Being married is pretty cool though I have to admit, it feels no different. I guess once you’re with someone for almost 7 years and have lived as a married couple for as long as we have, not much changes. Maybe it will sink in over the next few days but as of right now, it pretty much feels the same.
Let the honeymoon countdown begin. T-minus 15 days and counting.
Stay tuned for full recaps after we get the pro pics back!
