I’m so excited (: We saw about 15 houses before this one and it felt like home right away. It’s funny, because I NEVER wanted a split level because of the stairs, but this one only has three stairs up and the foyer is totally open so it feel more like a bungelow. It has a fenced backyard and was the first home (and only home) in our budget to have three bedrooms AND two full bathrooms! The windows are huge, which was another thing that we loved about it. The living room window is 9ft wide and 7ft tall and all of the other windows are about 6 ft wide and 4ft tall. I also love the location, becuase there are tons of nice walking paths literally a minute away from our house!
It’s an exciting time, but I’m definitely sad to be leaving my parents house permenently. I came back on weekends before and during the summer, so it’ll be weird not living here during those times. It’s just hard doing all this grown up stuff when I don’t feel grown up aha, but I guess at 22 it has to happen sometime 😉 Anyways we get the keys at 2pm today and I’m really happy! The house was supposed to close at 6 so I’m glad it happened earlier.
I always find it interesting to hear about house stats so here are ours: the main level is 1200sqft (3 bedrooms + 2 full bathrooms),the basement is semi-finished, and the lot is 60ft x 120ft and we paid $155,000. The houses in the area usually sell for a lot more; we got a good deal because it was a private sale and there obviously wasn’t commission to build into the price.
