Hell no.  My #1 dealbreaker is a partner who is controlling.  This sounds incredibly unhealthy and like the stereotypical beginning of an abusive relationship.

@Galang_Gyal:  He is already a bit emotionally abusive, I think will be become a lot more so after they are married, and quite possibly physically abusive too. I bet he will make her stop working, isolate her from everyone she knows (he’s already doing this, because “he doesn’t like them”), cut off her resources so she is dependent on him, and keep her from leaving even when her life is total shit.

Very scary to see this happening on this side of things.

No, I absolutely would not. I wouldn’t have even gotten far enough in this relationship to be engaged.

She is probably already afraid of him, if she feels the need to ask for permission concerning her food!

WOAH: Your updates are scary!

What the ****?

Sorry to sound so extreme, but it sounds like this relationship is going to end in one of two ways… either involving the police, or involving the coroner.

This guy is obviously not a healthy person to be in a relationship with, and I’m a bit surprised that he’s such good friends with your DH. Isn’t that awkward for him? Have you told him how you feel?

Anyway, to answer your actualy question, no no no no and NO. I believe that God brings people into our lives, honestly – but not to control us, not to refuse to let us eat when we are hungry, not to rule our lives with an iron fist. No.

Truthfully, this guy sounds dangerous.

Uff. I have BEEN in that relationship, and it ended with me getting kocked around on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, as someone who has been there, I can pretty much promise that she not only doesn’t see the signs, but that she WON’T see them until well after she leaves.

WTF?! Does this guy have a golden dick that makes the angels sing or something??!?!

Move her in with them?!!?!?! Maybe they make queen size bunk beds!! They can have the top, his parents can have the bottom.

I hope she comes to her senses ASAP.

@Galang_Gyal:  every relationship is different

she stuck it out and left someone else for him maybe because she likes being the submissive in this relationship…(think fifty shades of grey)

Wow he’s a douchebag and she needs to run VERY far and VERY fast. He sounds a lot like my ex husband.ugh.
