@Soon2BD-CBee:  absolutely.  at least once a week.  it’s usually a movie or dinner out.  sometimes it’s just some icecream and a walk on the beach.

Of course we do!! We don’t always go out, or do dinner and a movie, but we do something.  A lot of times we will order pizza, get a fountain soda (our favorite) and watch a horrible movie on sci-fi channel.  We also like to walk around the mall and people watch…thats just how we roll though.

We do!  At least once a week we try to do something special alone with each other.  Since we met on a Friday night, we think of every Friday night now as our special date night, whether we go out or just snuggle in bed and watch old movies.

DH and I work in a date night out of the house at least once a month and then if the IL’s are feeling really generous with letting the kids stay over we shoot for a weekend without children.

We also try to sneak away for quiet time in our bedroom when the kids are otherwise occupied with their own hobbies. Its hard to do when you have four kids but we manage.

@Soon2BD-CBee:  Yes but I usually have to plan them. So much of our life is taken up by our dog now that I feel like we have to carve extra time for just the two of us.

Yup! We usually have dinner out at least once a week – usually Friday or Saturday night. This is on top of the other “special” activities we do (i.e. concerts every now and then, movies, trips, etc.).

Yup. We go on a date every Thursday – out to dinner somewhere. We moved from MD to PA about a year ago so since then we have been trying out new restaurants and exploring the area.

Then we will have another date sometime during the week too, whether it be making a nice dinner together  – something fancy and out of the ordinary, w/a nicely set table, candles, flowers, etc then watching a movie or whether we spend a night out. I love spontaneous dates, but I also love our ‘set’ date every week. We’ve been together for 12 years and I think its something we will always make time for, even when we have kids. My Future Sister-In-Law has two children and her and her DH hardly ever go on dates or do anything without the kids – that is what I don’t want to happen to me and my Fiance.

We do, but not with any regularity. I’m going to start initiating Saturday morning breakfast dates again because those are my favourite ๐Ÿ™‚

@Marper:  We’re the same – we don’t call it “date night” and it isn’t regularly scheduled, but we often go to the cinema or out for drinks/dinner ๐Ÿ™‚

We go out and do fun things or see movies etc.  Not usually planned too far in advance.  But we have a regular standing date night on Fridays where DH cooks a nice dinner and we eat by candelight and listen to music.  We started doing this while we were engaged and on a shoestring budget saving for the wedding.  It was such a nice change of pace that we kept it going ๐Ÿ™‚

Absolutely. We always got out to eat when we go out of town. We also watch movies together or take walks. Every night is kind of a date night for us though ๐Ÿ™‚

yeah but not really planned like every week. Just when we feel we like it.  like hey want to go to dinner and a movie tonight ? I mean if you just count going out to lunch a date then all the time. But something like going to an event i see more as a date like, dressing up for the alaska day ball. or tickets to a local play. i see those more as a date even though we are one on one out to lunch or dinner. it just seems like we do those often enough and we only live in a town of 8000 ppl. no roads in or out so you the resturants and waiters end up just being like the cheers bar. you make your rounds and stuff. for my birthday we go to the most romantic hole in the wall (costs an arm and a leg ) but i love it and we have a great time!!  in the winter we will try to go out hunting together or play indoor racquetball.
