Our colours are navy, ivory and blush.  I picked the navy to have my bridesmaids in because my fiance has a Scottish background and was debating wearing his clan’s kilt which is different blues and I thought that navy would be the best way to compliment it (plus, I’m yet to meet someone who doesn’t look good in navy).  We’re having a vintage/romantic themed wedding and I wanted light colours to accent the darkness of the blue so the ivory and blush just sort of fell into place.  Originally it was just going to be the navy and ivory but I thought it needed a little splash of another colour for the flowers and blush it was.

I’ve always wanted a rich purple to be one of my wedding colours and I love the look of the eggplant purple with charoal grey, but there’s so many people that use those colours together (including my cousin just last year) so I came up with something else.

Please don’t laugh: The honest answer is our BATHROOM! We chose the “look” of our wedding based on the things we love in our everyday life. Our home is mostly decorated in shades of pale blue, gray, taupe, white, and ivory, and I love antique botanical illustrations. So our wedding is going to look a lot like this:

We wanted to not have a colour themebut I love tiger lilies so we ended up with orange everywhere! It worked out really well though, one of the walls in the dining room was actually orange!

@mylittleviolett:  In 2007 I walked into a Bloomingdale’s Home Store(Dishes and bedding, etc) and they had a tablescape set up of black, white, and lime green. And I never forgot it. So we did black, white, damask and hints of lime green ๐Ÿ™‚

I had been considering mint green, but was thinking that I wanted to do a mustard/olive/gold Art Nouveau kind of thing. I was still waffling. I must have had about 200 pins pinned on my Palettes board.

But one night I had a dream that I had a beautiful wedding, and the colors were dark mint, lavendar, periwinkle, ivory and gold. When I woke up, I was 100% certain that’s what I wanted.

To this day, I have no idea where it came from. But when I went back and looked at my Pinterest, there was nothing like that there. Maybe I saw it in a magazine or something.

Our theme was McDonald of Clan Ranald because my husband wanted to wear his kilt for the wedding and I went from there. I used the clan crest on all of our stationary, the clan tartan on a few things, and drew our colours from the tartan (red and black with white accents).

@mylittleviolett:  Probably green bridesmaids dresses and tablecloths, with the lavendar and periwinkle in the napkins and flower arrangements, gold chiavari with ivory cushions and maybe green or lavendar ribbon. That’s all I have so far. I need to try some things out in Photoshop.

This wine bottle label inspired me to switch from pale yellows pinks and greens to teal and pink. Which is funny because neither Fiance nor I drink wine at all, for religious reasons. We just saw it at our grocery store, and we almost bought a bottle because we both fell in love with the color. The color doesn’t look right on a computer screen, it doesn’t look like teal at all, but in person it’s absolutely gorgeous.

@Loribeth: Love the shoes, I don’t remember them

Before we were engaged I thought to decorate our kitchen aqua and red, so I Googled it and in the results up came aqua and red wedding stationary, boom there it was, I loved it. When we got engaged I did explore other options just so that I was sure.

At first, I was dead set on having my colors be Tiffany Blue, Silver, and Black. I am all about some Turquoise, and Tiffany is just such a gorgeous shade of blue, I couldn’t resist. After some negotiations with my mom, we ended up picking February for wedding month, due to finances and whatnot. I decided that my color scheme felt a little Spring-ish, so I started looking at other options… Then I saw this pic and fell in L-O-V-E!

Now I’ve gone completely purple crazy! ๐Ÿ™‚ New colors are Eggplant, Lavender, and Ivory. My BMs will be dressed in eggplant, holding lavender bouquets. I’ll be in ivory with a deep purple bouquet. We’re even going to throw lavender for the exit! ๐Ÿ™‚

EDIT: You asked where our inspiration came from? All I can say is thank goodness for Pinterest! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My colors are pine green, ivory, and gold. Actually, the inspiration came from the real housewives of OC. Many many seasons ago when Lori gets married she had a green and white wedding and it was breathtaking. If I remember correctly, her colors were more of a celadon green. I like the natural look of it. We are doing white and ivory flowers.. With the dresses as greenery ๐Ÿ™‚ Im letting my girls choose the style.. So above is a few options.
