It will be three weeks ago (on Sept. 22nd) that J supposedly put a deposit down on my ring (for those who don’t know, J asked permission from my dad a couple weeks ago, and told him that he put a deposit down on a ring around Sept. 1st or 2nd).
So. I did my nails today in a soft pink hue. Just in case 😉 I want to be prepared. If I’m in my PJ’s with bedhead when he proposes, I at least want my nails to look nice, lol.
For the engaged bee’s: How long did it take for your ring to come in?

@GwenvonD: I know this isn’t an answer to your question but that’s so exciting! My OH has ordered my ring and he’s going to speak to my parents on Wednesday so I’m trying to make my nails look less like they have been mauled…! I hope your wait is almost over!

Fiance went into the jewelry store 2 days after we went shopping together and bought the ring (he paid for it, but it was a custom design so they said it could take up to 4-6 weeks to be made). After 6 weeks without a call from the jeweler, Fiance supposedly called them and found out it was done less than 2 weeks after he paid for it! It was sitting there for weeks and no one called him! But it turned out fine. We got engaged about 7-8 weeks after he bought the ring (1 week after he physically got it from the store).
Like you, I also kept my nails looking nice constantly! 🙂

@GwenvonD: I think the whole process took about 2.5 weeks.

@Mrs. Fireworks: That’s good you didn’t wait long then! For mine, they just need to put in a half carat diamond, and size it (size 4). I’m assuming it would take 2 to 4 weeks to come in. I asked my brother how long it took for his now wife’s ring to come in, and he said about 2 to 3 weeks maybe…? Nothing major has to be done to it, so I’m hoping it’s on my finger by Hallowe’en!
I just realized today actually, that I should probably try and keep my hands and nails looking decent. They’re always so dry, and I type a lot at work so my nails are constantly chipping and breaking :/

Have been following your story and can’t wait to hear some good news for you!
I’m in a very similar position at the moment, waiting for the call to say my ring has been made. It should be finished within the next few weeks and I’m hoping my SO puts me out of my misery soon after!
Good luck as your waiting comes to an end!

I’ve been doing my nails every few days! I’m right there with you! If you need a waiting buddy… there’s one in Chicago with lots of new nail polish…

Congrats!! I can’t wait for your engagement post!! 🙂
I think Darling Husband ordered my ring the beginning of May (it was his finals week in college), then had the ring in mid-June sometime. He was worried I had accidentally discovered it in his glovebox after showing it to my dad when he talked to him (which I had….), so he waited to propose till the end of July. All done and said, he had the ring about 6 weeks after ordering it, and proposed about 2 and a half months after ordering it.

How exciting! Looking forward to your post! I have been keeping my nails pretty for months now!

I love that you did your nails. Better to be prepared than unprepared!! It took about 2 weeks for my ring to come in. I hope that you get your proposal soon, that is very exciting!!

My Fiance waited 5 months to propose after he ordered the ring, 2 months after he asked my parents….he wanted to save the proposal for a special occasion! Luckily I had no idea any of this had happened- otherwise I would have burst with excitement! I hope you get your proposal soon! 🙂

Hurray! I’m in a similar waiting timeline (hopefully before the end of October), and I’ve totally been doing the same thing! I never used to have the patience for regular manicures, but now it seems like a neccesity! Sending lots of positive vibes your way!

Haha, I’ve been going to the nail salon religiously for the past few months – with a “by the end of the year” deadline, I want to make sure I’m ready at any time!

@KatyInWaiting: lol, that’s cute. I’ve been considering getting my nails done professionally (nail salon), but they never do them the way I want them to. Meh. I’ll just do them myself. I’m getting my hair done next week as well (I hate the colour it is right now!) because I know that there will be an endless number of photo’s being taken when we get engaged. I don’t want to look back at those photo’s and think, ‘Ugh, I look horrid with that colour! What was I thinking!?’
Tomorrow will be three weeks since J supposedly ordered the ring (yes, I’m counting down the days until I think it may be in his possession, lol). I’m keeping my eyes and ears peeled for any suspicious activity on his part.
