Fiance and I just got engaged a few days ago, but as we are hoping for a winter 2013 wedding, we don’t have a lot of time.
I’ve been looking at venues online, and I’ve found a few places that are interesting, but I wonder if anyone can offer any ideas as well?
We’re looking for something winter-friendly, for about 100 people. Our budget is about $100 a head.
Places I’ve bookmarked so far: Black Creek Pioneer Village, Markham Museum, Stirling Room, McMaster Gallery, Cambridge Mill, Willow Springs Winery.
Any other ideas? Something warm and lovely; the more historical/vintage the better.

Check out Berkeley Church. It definitely fits the historical and vintage feel you’re looking for.

Have you checked out Old Mill Inn?? We looked there and it was beautiful!

We ended up booking Willow Springs in Stouffville. October this year! There were so many beautiful venues to choose from. 🙂

They are a one stop shop.
Fiance and I are getting married in their chapel, though they have an outdoor wedding garden as well, its just more $ to use the space.(Chapel is $600 and outdoor garden is $1000).
They have multiple event rooms, we are using the Humber Room, and they have a large menu, with food and bar packages that are reasonably priced. We have chosen their most basic package which has a cocktail hour, 3 course meal (entree of Chicken, Potatoes and Seasonal veggies) and 5 hour bar package (including cocktail hour) for $98.75 pp plus tax and tip. If you’d rather not have the bar package they will deduct $45 pp off that total, but that takes away ALL drinks, so you then have to pay separately for the bartenders, and soda/juice, which our coordinator told us are about $4 each alone.
We are expecting about 70 guests, our room can accomodate a maximum of 90, BUT they have several larger rooms that can accomodate up to probably 200 or so.

@chercee: Try The Manor by Peter and Pauls, they’re winter wedding packages are $83/person, the food is great and the view is amazing, they’re set on a golf course with a beautiful pond. They’re in Kettleby, Highway 400 and Aurora Side Road, really easy access to the highway. The interier of the building has a huge stone fireplace. We’ve been to several Christmas parties there and are actually considering them for our wedding as well.
