Well, not really a wedding show but definitely a marriage (?) show, 90 day fiance. Guilty pleasure. It’s on TLC.

TLC is prime for a lot of shows and more coming out. Four weddings is good to watch in spurts, say yes to the dress for both Atlanta and NY are good because they show some weddings at the end and give ideas. There’s a new show hubby and I both love called I want that wedding. This one is fantastic but just started. It asks a couple a budget they want and what they’d like. Most disagree so the planner takes them to 3 weddings with different themes and budgets then asks them at the end what they would like and goes over the budget for each. They give tips on how and where to save.

We’ve watched 90 day fiance and are really angry with the show. Hubby and  I are products of meeting online and going to different countries over the years. We’ve gone through hell with immigration, people’s ignorance in the process and the automatic thought of people marrying to come to this country. It took 18 months of hell in being separated after being together 7 years to come back to this country. I lived on a site called VisaJourney with thousands of good people whom really love each other and been together going through this same hell. Instead, this show is sending horrible messages in a time when people are already ignorant about immigration and judgemental about it. They use people and dramatize a very serious matter. Instead of tryiing to help these couples and provide counseling  as well as air couples whom are better examples of this process, they choose to give good tv. It makes it more difficult for people like my husband and I and other good people whom are going through something no one can possibly imagine to go through.

On Amazon you can get the “TLC Say Yes” on demand tv package monthly subscription for less than $5. It includes a crap ton of Say Yes to the Dress, both NYC and Atlanta, Say Yes to the Dress Bridesmaids, Four Weddings, My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding, and more.

caitlinw22 :  Four Weddings (I got 100 plus episodes recorded so each time I feel like watching it, I just click). I used to watch a lot My Fair Wedding too with David Tutera until the producers changed the format. I don’t even know why and so many people are complaining online to bring back the original format. I watch 90 Day fiance too although the actual weddings are shown just a bit at the end of each season. I like that new show too I Want That Wedding.

Older shows: Platinum Weddings & Bridezillas

socalgirl1689 :  I watched David Tutera a few times but……he is just so over the top with stuff!!!  I admire him as a designer but I would not have wanted him to get a hold of my low key wedding, lol.  Fun to watch, though!

I watch Say Yes to the Dress (NYC and Atlanta) and Four Weddings! They’re fun shows and I’ve learned a lot for my own wedding–I know all about wedding dresses now and I’ve seen common pitfalls and guest complaints to avoid. However, don’t put too much pressure on yourself after seeing what some of the brides on the shows do! No one expects you to have a $15,000 wedding dress, get married in an ice palace, and have cirque du soleil performers entertain your guests during the reception.

Also, don’t forget about WEDDING MOVIES! 27 dresses, the wedding planner, monster-in-law…there’s so many good ones to watch.

One complaint about “Four Weddings” is they should put four $30,000 weddings against each other, and four $10,000 weddings against each other.  No was Miss $5000 going to win against three heavy hitters.  (She was one of my faves, btw.  Her community college co-workers all chipped in, her wedding was lovely.)
