Hi all! I was stunned when I first glanced at the price tag for some of the flower girl baskets in the craft stores but I knew I would eventually need one for the cute little Flower Girl in my life! This led me to the idea of making my own and of course I came on Wedding Bee for inspiration.
I picked up a basket at Salvation Army for $1, spray painted it white and bought ribbon and pearls from Joanne’s.
I have enough paint and fabrics left over for other projects im working. I estimate I will complete at least 3 other projetcs for the cost of what I would have spent on ONE storemade Flower Girl basket!!!! crazy right?
I went for a shabby shiek feel and have yet to fill it with flowers. My wedding colors are pink, mint and burlap. Let me know what you think! and please share pics of your own DIY baskets!

I made the basket for my first wedding out of…..wait for it……paper plates! I will have to dig through my pics (pre-digital LOL) to see if I have a good pic of it. You would never know it was made of paper plates. And it lasted long enough that my SIL used it for her wedding 5 years later!
