I loveLOVElove those rustic wooden save the dates, so I decided to do them myself, I can’t wait for everything to get here so I can assemble them!
I ordered :
Wooden slices –

Custom stamp w/ names & date :

Black & pink ink –

Magets for the save the dates –

Pink & black bows [STDs with pink ink will get a black bow, and vise versa] –

Kraft paper to print additional information –

Baker’s twine to wrap it all up with :

And lastly, 6.5.6.5″ kraft envelopes –

Right now I have exactly $96.93 invested in them, and I believe they will cost around $1.20 – $1.60 to send each.
I will post more once all the components get here and I start putting them together!

Are you sure those wood slices will be deliverable in an envelope? That seems like something you would need a mailer/box for.

I’d double check, postage is a witch, I found out after my invites were ordered and cut, that the RSVP card is too small to be mailed and it ruined the “look”

@Elky: Yeah, I’m pretty sure that is too thick for an envelope. Envelopes have to be flat enough to fit through a machine. Cute idea, but you’ll probably have to switch to bubble-wrap mailer envelopes or a small box.

Hm, not sure, I got the idea from this thread :

The Bee who made them also used the kraft envelopes as well [and told me how much they would be about to send].

@jenilynevette: huh, well then ignore me! Maybe I’m imagining them thicker because it looks like it worked for her. Maybe make a mockup and take it to the post office to double-check before you make all of the rest. It’s going to look adorable when they’re finished!
