A couple days, and I made my own bar stools! Went to Home Depot, asked them to cut the wood to specs I wanted. A couple things went bad and had to be done again (learning curve 😉 . And today I am the proud owner of my DIY stools! Bought some for $200 and didn’t love them. Was annoyed I couldn’t get exactly what I wanted so returned those and decided to do my own.
Here they are:
one on the right is still wet from the DIY wood stain to color the very pale wood. Now just a clear coat to seal it and done! Sooo happy and yes, patting myself on the back as before this I didn’t even know how to use a drill!

MrsYokiman: Yes I did :). Was a bit frustrated with the corners while upholstering. And when screwing because the long legs were treated wood sticks. Just because Home Depot didn’t carry them in normal wood :-/. And the treated wood cracks easily if you screw straight into it. I knew nothing so had to do quite a few trips to the store and the guys gave me some stuff that wasn’t the right one. Other than that? It was a lot of fun! And exactly what I wanted. Now I’m about to start two benches for the dining set. I have an old glass and wood table and no chairs. I intend to work on the table and make it look pretty again. And build two benches and two chairs . Crossing fingers!
