Hey!

My Fiance’ is a huge Disney fan and we both love Beauty and the Beast! We are incorporating that into our wedding in subtle ways to include our first dance being to the song “Tale as Old as Time”.

I am a huge Beyonce fan and I wanted to walk to her music coming down the aisle. I found a string trio to play a few of her songs for me. My guest really appreciated the personal touch. They played love on top and halo.

The restaurant we went to on our first date had really pretty sugar packets, so I took one! It kind of turned into a habit and as a result, we have tons of sugar packets because we took one from almost every restaurant we’ve eaten from (after 7 years) . We’ll be incorporating the sugar in these packets into a sand ceremony.

Our friend who introduced us officiated our wedding and it was so personal! We loved that the person who thought we’d be good together before anyone else got to be the same person to marry us. We also had a Destination Wedding in the country my mom had always dreamed of visiting. She passed away when I was young but would always talk about taking us there one day (we were actually in the midst of planning a family vacation there forbwhen she would be better but she passed before we could) so I wanted to incorporate her without making everything sad. I felt her around us the entire 3 weeks we were there – this destination is known for raining sporadically all the time and we never had a drop of rain! We had an outdoor ceremony and it was so warm and sunny you would have thought we were in Miami!

MsJ2018 :  Yessss another BatB fan!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ We are making our centerpieces to look like the enchanted rose ^_^

We also had a custom cake topper made using our two favorite characters — Belle and the Reverse Flash!

Those are probably my favorite details! Also our seating chart/seat “cards” are actually going to be made using dungeons and dragons mini-figs because we are both major tabletop RPG nerds too ๐Ÿ™‚

My favorite are part of my centerpieces. My fiance and I are huge nerds/gamers and play a weekly game of D&D. Since I wanted to include our love of all things gamer and nerdy in our wedding, I had custom made wooden D20’s (that’s a 20 sided die – the most used die in D&D) made to use as part of our centerpieces.

They turned out stunningly beautiful and I adore them SO MUCH. My favorite because I found a classy and elegant way to include our nerdy love!

EDIT: to include a photo cause I just had too!

I’ve always believed that Friday the 13th is a lucky day, particularly because everyone thinks it’s so unlucky.

We got married on Friday the 13th, in October nonetheless. I wanted a subtle reminder, so guests would be like… that’s RIGHT! It IS Friday the 13th! Though rumor has it our guests received comments saying “who gets married on Friday the 13th?” Sansa does. That’s who.

I bought some black cat charms and scattered them on the tables. I also painted fake mini pumpkins raspberry and rose gold with glitter. I actually found painting and glittering to be a big stress reliever. My husband was very happy to see them gone though ๐Ÿ˜‚

No one knew this but we had a mini figurine of our cat made out of fondant and it was sitting on the back of our wedding cake. You could only see it when you went to cut the cake. We wanted him there but that would have been traumatizing for him, so this was the next best thing!

We will be walking down the aisle together. We’re both making the decision to get married, so we figured it was most appropriate.

windycitywedding2019 :  My favorite “detail” is our destination. I’ve been obSESSED with Banff since I was about 9.

I was watching a PBS special about the Canadian Rockies (am nerd) and saw the shot of Lake Louise, with the castle on the shore and water a color I didn’t even know water could be.

I went on a solo road trip through the area in 2015. I had always wanted to “save” it to do with a romantic partner, but it never worked out. Now, I’m getting married at the castle, and get to spend a week exploring the area with some of my favorite people on the planet.

Including our dog; who is going to be ring bearer. ๐Ÿ™‚
