I’m having baby fever and LOVE hearing about names :). I have been seeing a trend on youtube where women talk about their “guilty pleasure names” for babies, meaning names they love but likely will not use. Name that are possibly a little too “out there” or their spouses don’t like.
Do you have any of these?!
Boy names: Link, Holden, Javier (Javi), Avi, Cruz, Ezra, Elijah, Griffin.
Girl names: Briar Rose, Avi, Elliot.
I know these aren’t too “out-there”, they are mostly just names I know DH will say absolutely no to. My all time favorite name in the universe is Elliot for a girl, but DH already said no :(. We’ll see..muwahahaha.

I have a list of guilty pleasure names lol. Having been born with a super common first name, I’ve always been drawn to more unusual names when pondering potential baby names. Some of these are names I really love but DH has rejected for being too weird (he prefers more classic names) and others are names I like but couldn’t ever see myself using.
Boys – Blaise, Jensen, Hadley, Kaiden, Reid/Reed, Austin, Camden
Girls – Lorelei, Peyton, Bryony, Spencer, Avery, Ophelia, Arielle

Mine are Elizabetta, Evangeline (I think they are beautiful but would seem out of place for my husband and I, if that makes sense) and Bellatrix (Yes, like from Harry Potter). I can’t say I really have any for boys…girls names are way more fun!

This is one of the most hated names on the internet, but I actually really like Neveah. The whole heaven-spelled-backwards thing is cheesy (and inaccurate, that would be Nevaeh), but I just think Neveah sounds really pretty!

I have a LOT of these! My Fiance is pretty conservative but my hippie roots have really shown through as I’ve been thinking of names. Some of my favorites, and guiltiest, are… Willow, Briar, Ophelia, Sloan, Willamina, Delphinium, Winsor, Link and Fox.

Mairead, Emmeline, Savannah and Fallon for girls. DH does not like any of those. Boys names, we don’t have any that are hard no’s for him, but people we know have used that name or it doesn’t flow well with our last name so Lucas and Cole are out as well sadly.

I have always wanted to name my children forest, river and ocean. One might be okay, but I’d never do all three of them, that is too out there even for me!

I would love to use the name Nizhoni – it means beautiful in Navajo and it sounds lovely, though I can’t explain how to pronounce it here. However I am not a Navajo and I feel it would be utterly inappropriate for me to use it. Plus since I still live very close to the reservation I think I’d get a lot of side-eye anyway.

omg, I was just about to say, my guilty pleasure name for a boy was “Fox”. But then you know what? We thought, “to heck with it!” and named our gorgeous Valentine’s day baby Fox Cameron. We’ve gotten really good reception about the name so far, people love it! No regrets 😉

Good to know! Maybe I’ll keep it 🙂

I don’t have a ton of “guilty pleasure names.” Any name that I like, I would probably use, but these are ones that DH shot down as definite “nos”
Girls: Marlowe (this is a name I love on paper, but due to my northern accent, I can’t say it worth a damn), Arabella, Everly, Coraline, Agnes, Theodora
Boys: Calder (Call-der), Wilder, Silas, Linus, Fox, Atlas
I actually wanted to call a boy (if we had two) Linus Edlund Fox and DH was like girl, WUT.

Ha, this is fun. I definitely have a few of these – would not inflict them on a child, but like the sound of them. 🙂
Boys: Ezra, Grey, Avery
Girls: Lorelai, Xanthea, Beverly, Daisy, Azalea, Maisie, Beatrix, Odette

- Wedding: September 2012 - Southern California
I love the name Javier, but my husband and I are so white that our child would get so many side-eyes with a name like that haha!
Sailor for a girl is another name I love, but wouldn’t actually name a child.
I can’t think of any others off the top of my head though, but I know I have plenty haha.

I’m a crunchy bitch so I love the unisex names Cedar, Juniper, Laurel, Sage, Indigo, Zephyr, and–corniest of all–Sagan.

If I have a boy, I LOVE old man names. But my fiancé hates them, I don’t even think some of them are that old. Preston, Walter, Lawrence, Kenneth, Calvin, Woodrow, Warren
