I’m a huge name nerd and active on a naming forum, so most of my names would be other people’s guilty pleasures. Mine are common names I would never use due to having a long, elaborate list already.  Names like Finlay, Charlotte, Stella, and Adeline.

I love Poppy, Presley and Piper for a girl. Cassius, Crue, Finn and Sebastian for a boy.

Hubby said no to all of them.

I love Sioux, boy or girl (granted that does give a whole ‘boy named Sue thing, but that’s probably the least of my worries).

Now, in actuality, I feel it would be disrespectful to name my child this, and thus wouldn’t even suggest it to SO, but I really do think it’s beautiful.

JessieFay13 :  I am a teacher & have had students with almost all your boy names. My Blaize spells it with a z instead of s though. I’ve had 3 of your girl names as students.

Liam is the boy name I really want to use. Willow is my girl name I’d love which is compleyely opposite of a name I’d typically like (tend to be more traditional)

I don’t currently have plans for having kids, but I’ve always loved the name Azrael for a boy. Which is insane because it’s the name of the angel of death and I’m an atheist. Buuuut, I still love it ๐Ÿ™‚ Maybe I’ll name a pet that someday so it’s not so taboo lol

I also reeeeeally love the name Rae for a girl but with Star Wars VII having Rey as the main character, that’s gonna be a popular name now I feel like ๐Ÿ™ I liked it before the movie!

I’ve always liked the name Eden for a girl. My husband said it reminds him of a porn star name, so that ruined it for me a little. I also really like Blair, but I don’t like the sound of it with our last name. It’s a bit of a tongue twister. For boys I like Benton (again, tongue twister, but not as bad) and Emmett. Twilight ruined Emmett for me for a while, but I’m warming back up to it again.

stevielee :  Girl: Imogen Boy: Brogan

Both of which have already been vetoed by my Fiance and we aren’t even close to having kids yet! But in a dream world I’d have a little Imogen and Brogan!

mandakay0021 :  Yeah, they’re getting popular in some parts of the world lol. Still more on the uncommon side where I’m from but definitely seeing them crop up more and more often.

teacher-bee-in-the-sea :  When I worked in Cosmetology we had a family of some really strange hippy folk who had a son named Ocean and four other kids with equally weird names like Birch and Table (okay, not actually Table, but it was close to that). They wouldn’t let the boys cut their hair so all the little boys had this long waist length hair and never wore shoes.

They were a strange bunch. When you said Ocean it immediately brought them to mind!

I have a Briar ๐Ÿ˜.  But my little lady is Briar Elizabeth ๐Ÿ˜Š.  My guilty pleasure names that I love, but wouldn’t/couldn’t use, are Maple for a girl and Jasper for a boy.

In a perfect world it would not be weird to name my daughters Hermione Ariel and Aurora. ๐Ÿ™‚

i especially just LOVE the name hermione it’s so pretty. I am also a huge Harry Potter nerd so there’s that.

i have no guilty boy names. I work in schools and I’m SO TIRED of seeing normal names with abnormal spelling !
