Lol well it seems less like it need to look ‘presentable’ and more like it’s the new trendy thing to do, after you bake your own bread.  Quarantine entertainment or something. Personally I think getting your hair cut by someone who’s never done it before for a few zoom meetings is much riskier with a possibility of looking even worse but 🤷‍♀️ Ymmv

I actually cut my husband’s hair regularly, pre-quarantine situation. I’m pretty comfortable with clippers after many years of clipping horses – same Wahl clippers for horse, human, and dog 😂😂

Nope. He wouldn’t ever trust me to do it. Frankly, I don’t trust myself.

Yes, I do but I have been doing that for a while now. My husbands needs a haircut about every 10-14 days and I figured this isn’t rocket silence, watched a couple of YouTube videos and finally did it for the first time. My husband wasn’t worried because in the worst case scenario he’d shaved his head and waited it out. But turned out that my work is way better than what the hairdressers did. And we are saving a good chunk of money which I can now spent on my nail supplies (as I also diy my nails, dip/shellac) I have long hair and I either trim it myself or have my husband do it.

EllyAnne :  I gotta say, I never knew choosing to be bald would put so much confidence in my man but it’s great! Confidence is so sexy

No way. I wouldn’t do it even if he begged. I don’t trust myself at all. He’s made a few cracks about ordering some clippers and buzzing his own hair, so we’ll see if he follows through on it.

As for me, after growing out my hair for two years, I’ve been haunted by the idea of a bob since our honeymoon in Europe…the temptation is so strong. This has been great, because I can’t cut my hair, ha. I also have baylage highlights so they’re growing out okay. My eyebrows are another (horrific) story.

I’m a hairdresser so yes, I have been cutting my whole family’s hair, Thank God I’ve always cut my own hair as well. So for haircuts and doing my own nails it’s not a problem for me.

I have cut my own just to keep the hair out of my eyes and done a bit of layering to make it blend in. I do have curly hair so if I make a mistake then I don’t think it really shows up as drastically as it would with dead straight hair. This made him think that I should do his as well. I think that is a baaad idea.

He has a very distinctive style that he likes and I am pretty well positive he would end up looking like he had been dragged through a wet bush backwards if I touched it.

EllyAnne :  Oh my god no. DH has the weirdest hair. It is sooo thick and doesn’t have a discernible growth pattern. It looks like it grows randomly. He gets gorgeous medium fades so I don’t want to mess his hair up.

His hair now is super long. It’s been 6 weeks for him and he needed a cut badly before we started sheltering at home. He wants to slick it back like Bradley Cooper. I’m all for it.

Mine cuts his hair anyway so no issues.

I coincidentally got my hair done just before lockdown so it’s looking fresh. I dont get much regrowth anyway.

However on conference calls at work, some people’s hair is looking so bad!

EllyAnne :  I had to cut my fiancé’s hair. It has to be below a certain length in uniform, and it bugs him when his hair starts getting too long. He threatened to do it himself which is a bad idea because of he can be clumbsy and to him it’s just hair so who knows how it’d have turned out. I actually managed to give him a pretty decent fade and only messed up a little behind his ear, which nobody can see when he wears his cover. It was my first time cutting hair, so needless to say I was a little nervous. The things we do for love!

Welp Dh did his sideburns yesterday and he did a great job. Then he got cocky and decided to attempt a neck trim…

Let’s just say it’s a good thing people won’t be seeing the back of his head during his virtual performances. 🤣

owls :  will you or have you been doing video-conferencing haircuts?

and my fiancée and I barbered each other’s sides ( I have a shaved pixie, and she has a mohawk), and it went really well. It’s nice to feel tidy!

I haven’t cut his during quarantine yet, but I have cut it multiple times before this (to save money as broke college students) and likely will give his sides a trim soon.
