I eat my snacks when I’m alone, in the middle of the night, while browsing the Bee.

Like right now lol.

I grab a handful and then separate them by colour and then if say I have 2 yellow, 4 red and 3 green I wil eat the extras so there is the same number of skittles in each colour ( so I’d be left with 2 of each in this example) then I eat one from each group till there are none left!!!

I separate any candy I eat by color. In almost every candy, there are certain colors I don’t/won’t eat (skittles and sour patch kids- yellow and orange, starbursts- i only eat the reds, etc). I don’t want to waste the flavors I don’t like and Fiance swears he can’t taste a difference, so I keep a bag on my counter that I put all the “gross” flavors in. We’re long distance, so he comes over about once a month and eats any candy in the bag. The remaining “good” flavors I eat by color. I even have to eat M&Ms by color. Brown, then red, then orange, then blue, then alternate yellows and greens, making sure I eat a yellow last.

I break the chocolate off the sides of three musketeers bars and eat it first, then I eat the center part.

If I have any kind of assorted snack, I have the eat all of one type first. So like Chex Mix, I’ll pick any random piece then eat all of one kind, then all of the next, etc.

I’m a really strange eater. I can’t eat things that are mixed together, even if they taste the same. It even applies to salads. I’ll eat all the chicken, then all the tomatoes, then all the carrots etc, then finally eat all the lettuce. Fiance makes fun of me (in a kind way of course) when we go to the movies because if I eat candy there, I have to wait until a bright part in the movie to make sure I know what color I’m eating.

The rare occasion that I have M&Ms, I will separate them into groups according to color. Then, if the number of M&Ms in the groups don’t match, I will eat however many I need to until the groups all have the same amount. If one group is only 2, and the rest are 4 or more, I will just eat a whole group that has 2. After I am left with separated M&Ms and all with the same amount, I will eat one of each from each group until they are gone 🙂

@mgol25:  I do the exact same thing, on a more OCD level.

I’ll tip out the entire packet, seperate them into their colour groups and place each colour in a small bowl. Then I make sure each colour group has the same number of Skittles in it – I eat the extras. Once they’re sorted properly I eat the same number from each group until there is a certain number left (say I picked 6) and then I eat all the Skittles left, going from the colour I like the least to my favourite.

@AllieANT:  We must be related! I eat 3 musketeers the same way. And divide out chex mix by piece, and eat from least to most favorite.  Used to drive me nuts when mom would scoop up a handful of the chex cereal since I’d save it til last.

I only do it for things that have different flavours.  If it’s just colour, I don’t care.  I save my favourites for last, and sometimes Darling Husband comes in near the end to have some and I have to tell him No!  lol  I do it with food too, garlic mashed potatoes, risotto etc get saved for last with the occassion small forkfuls between the other stuff.

I take a couple of bites out of the outside of Reese’s peanut butter cups, hoping to get the thinnest part of the chocolate first.  Then I eat the center part with most of the peanut butter. The goal is to have the thickest part of the chocolate edge with just a bit of peanut butter for last.
