I know both a Lay-uh and a Lee-uh who spell their names Leah, so I usually end up using the wrong pronounciation until they correct me 🙂

I would say Lee-uh.  My name is Carin, while I think it’s easy no one else can seem to figure it out! Any guesses? 🙂

Hmmm. For me the sound Lee would be spelled Lee or Leigh. Lee-uh is Leah. Lay would be . . . I have no idea. I’ve never seen or heard that as a name. And Lay-uh would be Leia or, for the more literaly, Laya, maybe? I’ve never heard anyone pronounce Leah as anything other than Lee-uh or Lee-ah, depending on the accent and inflection.

Try being named Shea (pronounce Sha) and people call you She-ah.  I want to ask people if they are ignorant.  I’ve never heard of someone being called She-ah

I’ve heard it both Lee-uh and Lee.

@MissBoPeep: I’d pn your name like Karen?

Wow, I’ve never heard Leah pronounced anything but Lee-uh (or Lee-ah, they’re basically the same I think). Lay-uh would be Leia I would think.

@LovebirdsSC:  Is it Shay or Sha? I’d pronounce Shea like Shay… it’s not very nice to call people ignorant for mispronouncing a not-so-common name.

@galloway111: Its Shay. (I was trying to type the sound) and I don’t ever call them that, I just think it sometimes!

@galloway111: I think the Lay-uh pronounciation is more culturally Jewish since that’s the biblical pronounciation in Hebrew.

@Mrs. Puffin: How do you prounounce your name?
