ellagrace:  I would do exactly the reverse as you!  I have the gold Tiffany setting with a gold diamond band, & my alternative would be your solitaire on diamond band.

ellagrace:  It’s a barely pink moissanite.

An east-west set emerald cut solitaire on a platinum band or a good sized ascher cut soltaire!

wrkbrk:  Haha, thanks!  I’m pretty fond of it myself!  And not to worry, it’s safe and sound on my finger and there it will stay ๐Ÿ™‚

I would buy a tiffany novo if I had to pick something other than what I got. I may buy one as my upgrade in a few years.

Assuming money was no object, I’d buy a 3 carat emerald cut (not a skinny one) in a platinum split shank setting with fine double claw prongs custom made by Leon Mege. No halo or pave.

I couldn’t find a photo without pave.

I currently have a 2 carat round brilliant cathedral 4 prong platinum solitaire from De Beers. I know I’d miss the fire and scintillation of the brilliant diamond but I do love the completely different architectural aesthetic of a good emerald cut too.

I have a simple ‘flat’ engagement ring with a white gold band a teeny diamond. I’ve never been a fan of big bling rings!

However there was something about the rose gold rings that I really loved – never thought about it when we bought the ring as the whole engagement was quite spur of the moment!!

I thought this one was so pretty and delicate ๐Ÿ™‚

Mine aren’t too dissimilar.  Ring I would choose if it were up to me:

Ring my hubby chose for me (it may not have been exactly what I had in mind, but it’s pretty similar and he did a good job!)
