We met on a friend’s private Minecraft server. We incorporated elements of the game into the wedding. (Signature drinks and instrumental music) .

We initially matched on one dating app (but as far as either of us is aware, didn’t chat, and I’m the only one who remembers it), then ended up in a real-life meeting scenario, then matched on a different dating app before finally actually going out hah!  (Details excluded for privacy, since I have to imagine our story is pretty unique!)  The irony is that we were in a pretty big city, so the chances of this have to have been incredibly small…

salrynn : Haha, yep it took us about 4/5 after we first talked to start dating. The first time I talked to him was on NYE when I was 14. The only reason I talked to him was because one of my friends was talking to him and showed him my picture. He said I was his wife. 😂

we actually started dating when we were 19. After I finally met him in person.

desertgypsy :  Love your story. FH and I met on POF and we chatted for a bit then were going to go on a date once I got back from my holiday. When I got back my Dad was taken ill so I deleted POF as couldn’t be dealing with endless messages from idiots. A year later I signed up to Tinder, he superliked me and I was so glad we had matched again!

We met on bumble, but didn’t really talk there. He added me on snapchat and was going through some personal things so we didn’t talk for a few months, but eventaully started talking every day for several weeks before we met in person. We started out as just friends/ cuddle buddies. Neither one of us wanted anything serious any time soon. He’d been thorugh a divorce and I’d become a widow in the past year. The more we talked and the more time we spent with each other we realized, as scary as it was, we both wanted more.

OKCupid.  He was super nice and funny but I was NOT attracted to him or interested in him at all.  BUT he was classy and asked me for another date, and I said yes.  Second date was way better and the rest was history 🙂

I also had pretty good luck on POF and Tinder.  Met a guy who is now one of my best friends on POF.

OKCupid. I’ve never heard of most of the sites listed. So many more options than I was aware of. Wow.

MsBeer :  Everyone talks crap about Tinder, but it has the highest numbers in this super scientific poll lol. And we have several friends locally who met their spouse on there as well, so they must be doing something right!

desertgypsy :  I know. I much preferred it over other sites though because of less unsolicited messages from ugly dudes three times my age lol

    OKC here too.

I’d been online dating off and on for 10 years. I had just decided I needed to change my approach – I almost always messaged first – and wait for someone who was willing to persue me.

I had seen his profile, and liked what I saw, but didn’t reach out or say anything. I did rate his profile full stars.

A couple of weeks went by, so I had kind of forgotten about him, when he sent me a message.

It’s the first and only time I went out with someone who messaged me first. I guess that was the key!

I landed in the hospital with a fairly serious medical problem 2 days after we first met. He came to see me in the hospital and I mentioned I was going to have to have an ostomy for the next 3 months. He took it all in stride and just said “Well, I guess that’s what’s happening now.” I knew that someone who could respond to something so icky and hard with such equinamity, was a keeper.

He remains the most patient and understanding person I have ever known. I am so lucky we found each other, at long last.
