I love blue wedding dresses – sometimes I really wish I had gone with a non-traditional color. I picked an Ivory dress – that’s not non-traditional it’s still a shade of white.

Those are all pretty traditional colors. If I had my pic I’d choose a royal purple wedding dress

Honestly, I would consider all of those options except blush to be traditional. My dress was ivory lace over pale gold, so I guess that’s untraditional lol.

hssweethearts2013 :  I actually think my dress photographed pretty white for the most part, it just depended on the light. I’m at work so only have access to the few images our photographer sent us as a sneak peak!

This is the dress indoors where the gold becomes a bit more obvious.

And this is the dress outdoors where it appears more white in direct natural light.

JessieFay13 :  Ughh this is my concern with my blue dress.

Honestly these are all pretty trdadional colors. Blue, black and for Americans red are not common colors. If you think blue is common I’d argue otherwise since there aren’t a ton of blue dresses. Ivory and blush seem to be pretty standard.

lavander is a color I have seen a few times on here.

If I didn’t go with a traditional white/offwhite dress, I would’ve picked either a blush or a slate blue. I don’t see a lot of slate blue dresses, but its soft, light, romantic and emotional. I love slate blue dresses so much!! πŸ˜€

VictorianChick :  To be honest, the way that the colours changed according to the light didn’t really bother me. But if it bothers you, I’d definitely take it into account. I fell in love more with the pattern of the lace than the colour. I knew I couldn’t wear white, as it was just too stark with my colouring, and the sample I tried on instore was ivory over pale gold – it seemed to complement my colouring better, so it’s what I ordered. I was a little sad that the lace pattern was less obvious outdoors, but I have plenty of lovely photos from indoors that show it off nicely. Plus, even though the dress certainly appeared lighter in natural sunlight, it still wasnt white white.

hssweethearts2013 :  I stuck with a traditional ivory dress since my hair was purple. If I had decided to have a “natural” hair color, I would have chosen a non- traditional color dress…probably blue, black, or grey. There are some stunning light blue dresses. I did love this black overlay dress:
