@MASPA:  That’s such a stunning dress!!!! If you have any pictures with it, I’d love to see it! I had my eye on it too but the shop had no samples of it (also think it would’ve been wrong for my figure).

@MrsWright:  are you referring to the one i purchased?  The only decent photo I have wearing it is from the back.  But the sample is a 12 and I ordered an 8 and the fabric was too think to be pinned.

For a long time I thought this was my dream dress, until I tried a simliar one on. It was pretty but it wasn’t the one.

Now I know I have my dream dress 🙂

Great thread!

Moonadea: I can’t believe you made that dress. It’s perfect!

My dream dress was Amsale Madge:

But there was no point in even trying it on – it runs around $5k, which was just under the budget for our entire wedding.

So I ordered a Lula Kate bridesmaid’s dress in ivory, and made a sash with extra fabric to get the look of the flowered sash on the Madge:

I had toyed with altering the skirt from A-line to straight as well, but ended up leaving it because I liked it better on me (more comfortable, too!)

I have two dream dresses — neither of which likely even existed when I was gown shopping, and one of which I have in common with   @Treejewel19:

And, here is the gown that I actually wore:

I wanted pretty much what fellow Bee Lemma had:

Ended up with (and love, just wasn’t original “vision”)

I was in love with this Alita Graham, I think it’s around $5k but it could be more.

Of course I was totally obsessed with this Lazaro:

I ended up with this, a custom Casablanca.
