Mine isn’t really dream vs. reality, but more what I thought I was going to want when I was doing online dress shopping, vs. what I found out I really wanted when I went store dress shopping.

Online Dress Shopping favorite:

I knew I wanted mermaid style, and still sort of wish I could have gotten one shoulder, but I thought I was going to love the satin look. I couldn’t try on this dress, but I tried on one very similar and HATED the way the satin looked.

Here’s my real dress!
It’s also mermaid, but sweetheart instead of one shoulder, which I still LOVE. Turns out I love lace so so much more than satin!!

Dream dress:

I am in love with illsuion necklines and I loved this Marchesa

But I bought my dress before the illsuion necklines really got big. I still love her though. Here is my casablanca.

Stephanie James Couture. My heart still aches when I look at it. Just out of the budget! 🙁

I didn’t even try it on because I knew I couldn’t afford it and it would have broke my heart!

Casablanca 1900. So much more sparkly then I ever thought I’d want! I love it though!

this was the one I thought would be fab for destination wedding and if I was 2 stone lighter and 4 inches taller!  However it was only in stock in 2 stores in the US and you couldn’t return it so no way to try on unless I travelled thousands of miles, very odd!

In the end I went more traditional and structured, to hold in the belly!  I like it but don’t love it… but guess I wasn’t going to look like the girl above anyway!

My dream dress was Desiree by Christos but was about $4-5k over budget. *sigh*

My real dress was an Allure I paid $300 for. They’re honestly pretty similar.

I am so lucky that in 38 days I will get to wear my dream dress!!! I really liked both the following dresses, but the bottom (which happened to be my #1 dress anyway) is my dress!!

My dream dress was also the Aglaya by Elie Saab:

And I ended up with the Pergola from pronovias:

This was my favorite dress when I saw it on the mannequin, but it just didn’t look good on me when I tried it on:

This is the one I ended up with:

My dream dress was too much out of the budget, too hot for an outdoor, and I’m sure it would be too itchy with the beading. Plus my fiance told me it was too much LOL

This is me in my dress and I feel like it was perfect!

^I thought I wanted this. It is a stunning ball gown, it fit me wonderfully, and it’s Disney to boot! I love this dress!

But when I saw my dress, it was game over. I only tried on two dresses after a LOT of looking. It is absolutely perfect for me. It has everything I’ve ever wanted from a dress. It’s beautiful!
