When I first started online browsing I fell in love with one dress from the very first day……
Maggie Soterro Adele (now discontinued)..
Because this dress was being discontinued I tried it on a lot earlier than I was planning and I am so glad I did because it looked nothing like the image on me. I have an hour glass shape and this dress just did not suit me. It made me look very rigid and wide. Not the look I wanted for my big day.
I was pretty disheartened and especially when all of the bridal shop consultants were steering me away from the shape I wanted and into Ballgowown and wide A-lines because I just “can’t pull off the more fitted shape having curves”!
Eventually I went abroad to visit a family member in the UAE and went shopping there and found my amazing beautiful dress only to discover it can’t be bought in the UK and the shop in the UAE could not ship to Scotland. I eventually ordered from the US and after A LOT of customs charges to get it in to Scotland I have my stunning dress……..
Alfred Angelo eight zero one….
Having a few alterations as the actual gown is more of an a-line in person than in the picture… so having it fitted more to my shape to the hips and adding a corset back…. Cannot wait to wear it and start alterations in just over a month! 😀

My dream dress was actually discontinued before I had the chance to try it on, but my actual dress is pretty similar.

My original vision was a huge chiffon ball gown. However, once I started trying on dresses, I didn’t find any that I loved (out of 75+ try ons). Ugh.
I did love this Casablanca 2077 online and on the hanger, but it looked awful on me and it was at the top of my budget.
Then I found my Casablanca 1985. Its the complete opposite of my original vision of a huge chiffon ballgown (and I’m still trying to get over that), but its the only dress I felt amazing in.
Here’s me in the 1985:

When I first started looking, I loved this one, but couldn’t find it anywhere.
Once I decided on my venue, I thought satin would be too formal for it and fell in love with beaded lace and went with this one.

I want this Lazaro so badly. I love the tulle, the blush, the belt, everything about it. But my mom would have hated me to wear off white.
And then this one, which I never tried on, but again is off white and my mom hated it. I just loved the sleeves and the lace
And then this Justin Alexander, which I’ve loved for a few years now.
And my real dress, I don’t have a photo of it on this computer, but it’s my grandma’s dress, a long sleeve satin ball gown from the 1950’s, with beading in the bodice. It looks similar to these
