My dream dress was the Pronovias Fuente but realised it was a  2011 dress and is now discontinued!! I had my heart set on it! in the end I went with a Charlotte Balbier Lake Como dress which I picked up in a sample sale…this pic does it no justice my actual dress will have a 3 hoop skirt underneath my dress to give  it a more ball gown look like the Fuente plus it still has the flower one shoulder detail which I love! The dress needs some altering as I’ve lost weight so sorry for the stock photos! The first pic is the pronovias dream dress and the second one is my Charlotte Balbier dress x

@Tangled:  Your dream dress is so amazing! Wow.

Your actual dress is so gorgeous on you – I love the color! It absolutely looks like a different dress between the ceremony and the reception – its understated and glamorous for the ceremony then sexy and stunning for the party, great choice:)

My dream dress and still sort of wish I had gotten it – Vera Wang Diana

And the dress I went for – completely different than the above dream dress, which my mother hated. Also less than half the price, and probably more fitting for my casual but elegant beach wedding at a lodge. I console myself because we are going to use the extra money to go on a fantastic honeymoon to Bali, so my fiance is happy that I went with the less expensive dress as well!

@Tangled:  your look is STUNNING.  love the bolero, the strap, and the construction – especially the ruching and fit – of your dress.   congrats on going a little nontraditional and looking SMASHING while doing it!!!

Here was my original dream dress. The Watters Sydney. I still love the look of it on the model and many other brides. but it was not as flattering on me (2nd pic)

My second dream dress became the Watters Anouk, but the skirt was way too full for me.

So in the end I ended up customizing a Jim Hjelm that I bought at a discount charity bridal store in NYC. Here it is in progress (skirt pieces are pinned). And the lace pieces are actually the same lace from the Sydney gown. We ordered 2 yards of it =)

Still feeling some dress regrets about not getting the Anouk =. I’m considering trying it on again to be sure. I dno. I can never be satisfied!
