I had a list of boy names but was having a hard time coming up with girl names I liked.  I WANTED a boy, so, so badly.  But from the time I said I was pregnant, (the day after my BFP my coworkers found out, because we use products at work that shouldn’t be used while pregnant), practically everyone was telling me it was a girl.  Not sure if it was that influence, or my own gut feeling, but I started feeling like it was a girl, too.

At 13 weeks, we found out it was a girl, (we had a Panorama blood test done, and it can tell gender with 99% accuracy).  I was disappointed at first, but now, (at 23 weeks), I’m thrilled to be having a girl.

I was certain it was a girl from day 1! My suspicious was reinforced when I suddenly had a craving for ice cream cake one day. It was the only strong craving I had throughout my entire pregnancy — just that one time, ice cream cake. But I had heard that girls make you crave sweet and boys make you crave salt, so naturally I figured that the ice cream cake craving meant it was totally a girl. And I was right!

I’m team green and due in Novemeber, so we don’t know what we’re having… But I have a serious feeling it’s a boy. I only had one dream where we had a boy but it felt right, I also LOVE our boy name we have picked out and I really feel like it just fits and it’s the baby’s name… Other old wives tale type stuff makes me think it’s a boy, I’m carrying low and basically all belly.  But mostly just strong intuition, I’ll feel awful if it’s a girl and I was wrong this whole time!! lol

FWIW, I would be 100% happy with either, I have zero preference, I just think it’s a boy. I’ll have to update the thread when baby gets here!

We were team green and I thought it was a girl — not because of my own intuition, which is terrible, but because of what others consistently predicted (crazy-looking strangers on the street and in line, my psychic cousin, etc.). Anyway, it was indeed a girl.

We’re team green again this time, and I have absolutely no intuition either way, again, so I’m hoping once I start to show, some random strangers will give me a clue again.

I thought mine was a girl, and I was right.  Of course you have 50% chance of being right.  Boys run in my Darling Husband family (more than girls anyway) but I always felt like it was a girl.

Pappy8:  the second I saw the second line I said it’s a girl! I never waivered in my feelings either. Maybe it was lucky guess but I was right!

We did not find out with our first, but I was positive it was a boy (it was). Darling Husband didn’t want to find out with our second, and we both thought it was a boy. I cheated and asked the U/S tech to check when Darling Husband stepped out to use the bathroom, and we were right (boy). With my last pregnancy, I knew it was a girl. Everyone else thought it was boy, but I was right and the U/S showed it was a girl.

I may have just been lucky, but studies indicate that a mum’s gut feeling is more accurate than other old wive’s tales to predict the sex.

Pappy8:  we find out on Thursday so we’ll see lol. I don’t know how i feel…. I honestly feel like I’ve been brainwashed by my ILs because all they say is “son son son…. My grandson…. HE he he”!

I keep having random feelings for both sexes but nothing had popped out although lately I find myself gravitating towards girl things. We also have a girl name picked and can’t for the life of us come up with a boy name we agree on so were kinda hoping girl just cause of that lol. Most wives tales pointed to girl …. So only 60 more hours to wait …… Eeeeeeek

How far along were you ladies when you got your gut feeling? Right away? A few months in? Just curious 🙂

gingerkitten:  I don’t remember having any certain feeling when I found out, but I think by about 12-14 weeks or so I just had a feeling.

Not pregnant yet, but my FH’s side is filled with boys, while my side is practically all girls. My mom has a theory that us women descended from my grandmother have a genetic thing that gives us a 50% likelihood of miscarrying boys. My grandmother had 5 girls and 1 boy. Just thought I’d put that in. I want a girl when I do get pregnant, but I guess I’ll just have to find out then. 🙂

I had a gut feeling this one was a girl. I had more morning sickness than with my son and craved sweet foods like fruit. I am having another boy though, so in my case my feeling was wrong. But keep us updated!
