haha, I was pretty mean when waiting and I knew it was coming… He would say things like, ” I’ll love you forever.” And I asked for proof! His friend got engaged a few months before us, and we started dating the same time, everyone is different, but I KNEW, HE KNEW I was the one. The proposal however completely caught me off guard and was the best suprise of my life.

laurennicole90:  On the bright side, your marriage will be more likely to last… ok, that may be the petty side talking, but it still counts if it makes you feel better!

I haven’t been waiting long enough to make the snarky comments yet, though I have been probing, asking him if he has anything special planned for Valentine’s Day (we won’t be spending Christmas or Thankgiving together, and probably not New Years). He said he didn’t have any ideas yet but he did have something special in mind for my birthday in March… fingers crossed!!

He has said, “Babe I can’t wait to marry you!”   I reply laughing and “jokingly”, “yeah yeah put it on paper!!!” So romantic, I know!

But what he doesn’t know is that it’s not a joke after all. Dude, really.. Put it on fucking paper. ๐Ÿ™ƒ Soon soon soon.

When this comes up I hold up my left hand, point to my ring finger, flip my hair back and strut away…you know, beyonce like.ย

lindsaysian3:  me too! Plus the “Prove it!” line! I’ve also set ultimatum deadlines in my head but don’t have the heart to even mention them to him as I know it’s just a phase (these usually come up when im PMSing) and I would never leave him LOL.

happily engaged NOW but months and months ago when my guy would say sweet things to me I’d throw in “well then why don’t you marry me?!” and he’d laugh and say “one day!” It’s funny now but so frustrating and silly/stupid at the time haha

UGHHH! He makes comments about how “It’ll be a jawdropper to your family” when he puts ring on it. My response? I don’t mind giving my parents a heart attack (jokingly of course!). Other times, my sister will come up in conversation, and I kind of give him hell. Since we’ve been together, my sister has been through 3 fiances (nat married), plus she’s on her second marriage(to my ex, but thats a topic for another day). I joke about how she must be SO much better wife material than me!

Honestly though, I dont really mind the excitement of waiting, since I know we’re on the same page about wanting to be married. I’m just enjoying every day I get to spend with my love. It makes me happy to see that we are just as much in love today as we were 6 years ago!

This Sunday one of my good friends from high school announced his engagement. I took three tequila shots (first time drinking tequila since freshman year of college way back when) and climbed into the bath while playing Bridget Jones on my laptop. I don’t really drink but that was too much.

I did get very upset last Christmas when he told me one of my presents was going to be “shiny and silver” and we had a rule that it had to fit into our stockings. He got me a looseleaf tea set and couldn’t see what he had done wrong. BOYS

YES! A few months ago, we were out celebrating a friend’s birthday, and I had way too much to drink. My best friend showed me a facebook post of a couple we know that had gotten engaged that evenging after dating one year, and in my drunken state, I completely lost it and screamed at my boyfriend about how long it is taking him to propose. Not my finest moment. I was very embarassed the next day.ย

I’ve never done anything mean, but I’ve started to get a little snarky.  My SO mentioned that his brother has started writing his best man speech, and I asked, “For whose wedding??”

So I was a waiting girl for over 6 years. Toward the end of my waiting stage I was annoyed as hell and I found out that Charles Manson was getting married. this really fucking pissed me off and I said to my now Fiance about two months before he proposed, “well i heard some interesting news. charles Manson is getting married. Yes, even a fucking serial killer is getting married before me. Awesome.” And I walked out of the room… Fiance was cracking up and little did I know that he already had the ring…
