Since I was unexpectedly gifted a sample dress, I’ve decided to repurpose my wedding dress budget for a pair of diamond studs to wear on the big day (and everyday before and after lol ) . While I was 100% fine spending the money on a dress that I’d wear once, I feel unexpectedly nervous about spending the same amount on jewelry even though it will get much more use! How crazy is that?
Help me feel better and share your biggest splurge purchase 🙂 Pics encouraged!

A large leather designer handbag. It’s four years old and going strong, I take it to work everyday. It’s a classic style, so no regrets from me. I got it on sale anyway but still a big splurge for me. I also want to buy a pair of diamond earrings. I don’t wear much jewellery so buying one set that will last a lifetime – why not!

Many moons ago when I was still abusing my Target credit card, I bought one of those $700 Dyson Animal vacuum cleaners. It was a great vacuum, but no more amazing than a standard, reasonably priced model. What I really paid for was the hot pink color… Very smart.

bonnybride : in terms of specific items/objects it would be a diamond pendant at £800 and Valentino Rockstuds at £520. I wear the pendant pretty much 24/7 and have worn the Valentinos about 20 times since I got them at Christmas so consider both good purchases.
My biggest splurge though is holidays. I’ve probably spent £30k on trips abroad over the last 10 years, possibly more, with a number of trips costing £2-2.5k a piece. In a similar vein I spend a lot on theatre tickets: a good few hundred £ a year.

I would say my car, it’s a 2017 Red range rover with black interior and black rims,it’s sexy. I’m usually a very cheap person (my parents bought me a 2009 Ford Fusion as a high school graduation gift in 2009 and I drove it until the end of 2017) but I plan on driving this for ten years or longer. I’m giving my fusion to my nephew whose 18 and has a piece of crap car lol

Hmmm I would have to say my ’07 Hyundai Sonata I bought for 4k back in November. While my ’98 Honda Accord had just broke a ball joint while driving, and took over a month to repair, it was repaired and runs fine right now (currently trying to sell it).
So technically the new car was a splurge since the old one still runs. 4k is a huge deal for a college student! But I have really enjoyed not being nickel and dimed by this new car.

I bought rose gold necklace and earring from Tiffany’s that ended up costing the same as my wedding dress. I wanted my wedding jewelry to be forever pieces and my ring is rose gold so I wanted it to match.

Recently, it was our 5-year anniversary trip to London (where my Fiance proposed!). We spent 5 nights at a $600 a night hotel with a private lounge and staff that would make you drinks at any time of night and could get you into any restaurant in town. Worth every penny. While there, we went to Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant, Hester Blumenthal’s place, and some very splurgy and amazing Indian restaurants. Amazing trip.
Now that we’re planning the wedding, I’ve splurged on hair and make-up, spending a little over $1K for myself and two of my best friends to have hair and makeup done (including my engagement photo shoot makeup and hair). Kinda cringe as a I write that, but I think it’ll be a great experience in the end.
