My biggest splurge recently has been a laser hair removal. I have pcos, and the hair growth is one of the things that keeps me from feeling properly feminine. So my fiance gifted me with that.

We can’t afford to take a honeymoon anytime soon (we’re both hoping to go back to school this fall), so instead we’re splurging on a one night $300 stay at a fancy schmancy lodge in Eastern Washington. I even upgraded us so we’ll have a bottle of champagne waiting for us when we get there!

I’m also considering getting a pearl teardrop necklace for my wedding, which I can then one day gift to my niece, but I haven’t decided on that yet!

We’re pretty frugal most of the time, but I would say our BMW. My husband reeeally wanted it, I just said it has to be automatic LOL. He likes it so whatever. I still prefer my acura RDX so I guess it works for us.

When I broke up with my ex Fiance, I used some of the money I had put aside for the wedding and bought myself a pair of diamond studs and a ski trip to Colorado with my girlfriends.  That was probably the most money I spend on myself that I can remember.

Last year my husband and I had a paver patio put in our backyard, along with a pergola and an outdoor fire pit.  It’s gorgeous and we use it a lot, but I still cringe when I think of how much we spent on it.

This year the big splurge will be redoing our driveway.  We have asphalt now and my husband wants concrete.  That’s going to be a pretty penny. undecided

Saying Yes to more experiences. We got a last minute oh shoot you didn’t get a Save the Date for a destination wedding in July, we are going! Also going to BottleRock 2018 in Napa (music festival – my first), VIP baby. Oh and bought an LV Neverfull off a friend gently used. I also got a promo at work mid last year πŸ™‚

When we purchased our house we redid the floors in the entire house before we moved our stuff in. It made it feel brand new! My dad and brother installed them all so we saved on labour but the materials were around $8k. Worth every penny πŸ™‚

We bought a house last year, so haven’t done any big splurges since then other than one international vacation recently – and we won’t be going on other trips any time soon!

queenbatgirl :  What lodge are you going to in Eastern WA? I’m always looking for that weekend getaway from the Seattle-Tacoma area. πŸ™‚

pixxiefox :  awesome!! I need to take one for a test drive haha. I always figured my first Porsche would be a 911 or even a Cayman, since I am definitely a sports car person. But like you we also have a big dog and DH stressed us needing something practical. I think the Macan is definitely the best of both worlds, can’t wait to get ours!

bonnybride :  I’ve been looking at diamond earrings for ages but haven’t made the purchase yet. I think they’re a great piece to splurge on!

We’re going to be splurging soon on a car for D.H. We’re spending more than I would personally spend on my own car but he’s super picky and we have the funds, so why not. While I understand why Bees might not consider a car a splurge, I do in this case because we are spending quite a bit more than I typically would based on D.H.’s preference. So while having a car can be viewed as a necessity, the type of car he is looking at is not a necessity (to me anyways).

Other than that, I would say vacations are what we mostly splurge on. Went on two last “bigger” ones last year and have a couple planned for this year.

Cosmetic surgery. I lost over 150 lbs, so I needed to have a lot of things lifted and tightened. I ended up having a breast lift, tummy tuck, inner thigh lift, and upper arm lift.

I also had a medical spa membership for a few years. It was amazing!!! Every month, I got to chose 6 treatments such as skin peels, Botox, fotofacial, laser hair removal, laser vein removal, Fraxel, microdermabrasion, etc. I also got 50% off addition treatments like juvederm, cool sculpting, eyelash extensions, and massages. I invested a lot of money into high end skin care products like Cle De Peau, Kate Somerville, MD Perricone, Skinceuticals, SK-II, La Mer, and Chanel.

My skin looked amazing and I felt so confident. I’ve been a Stay-At-Home Mom since my youngest daughter was born 6 years ago, so I don’t feel right spending that kind of money on myself anymore. However, I’m 43 now and I get told that I look much younger. I think it’s because of the money and time I spent taking care of my skin. I know I need to start investing more money into myself again and soon – before I regret not taking better care of myself when it probably matters the most.

marlamallow :  or sensible! We both earn well but pay cash for everything, won’t buy brand new cars as they depreciate too quickly.

We are having a baby in August and have super generous family and friends who have already got us a lot of the essentials and lots we are getting second hand, but Lillebaby had a buy one, get one sale this week on their carriers, so of course, I had to get us some!! So, despite the fact that we wont actually have a baby for another 20ish weeks we will have two baby carriers at our house by Thursday. But I couldn’t resist, $300 worth of carriers for $135 including tax and shipping was too great a splurge to pass up.
