Me TOO!!!  We ALWAYS keep ours closed.  I guess I find it polite to not have to look into a toilet -especially in someone else’s home.

The lid is always closed.  It’s a sanitary thing, too.  When you flush, there’s a potential for particles to be released into the air.  It’s probably not going to make you sick, but it’s best to be safe, right?

My pet peeve is real estate photos with lids up.  Ick.

Always closed…unless Fiance forgets!  We have two cats, and I don’t want them getting in there!

Sometimes it’s open, sometimes it closed.  Our toilet isn’t close to the sink in our master bath so I’m not worried about dropping anything in!  And the other 3 toilets in the house aren’t used that much, but I’m sure they’re all open!

We keep ours closed, because, like what gc762 said, we have two cats, too.  One time we had people over, and someone didn’t put the lid down, and the next person that went to the bathroom screamed because there were two cats looking up at her from INSIDE the bowl.  Ick.

I usually try to close it but Darling Husband doesn’t really care.

Oooh, and I’m also anal (no pun intended) about keeping it closed BEFORE you flush, because our local news did a piece like 4 years ago about how germs can float out and get on your toothbrush while you’re flushing.  I don’t know if it’s true or not, but it disgusted me enough to take action.

Acccording to my friend who is into the Feng Shui (sp?) thing, toliet lids should always be down and the bathroom doors closed. I don’t know why!

Ours is always closed, but not because of preferences really, unless it’s a preference to not let our dogs drink out of the toilet. I think that’s DISGUSTING so ours are ALWAYS closed so that the only water they drink comes from their bowl. Lol

Ours is always open. Mr. Hedgie used to close it but when I wasn”t paying attention I would sit on a lid… which bugged me. Let’s just call it being lazy!

closed! ick, i hate when people leave them open. we have a cat, so i have trained Fiance to keep it closed by telling him the cat will get sick and die from drinking chemicals from the cleaner in the toilet water. i haven’t put one of those drop in cleaners in the tank in probably 2 years, but Fiance thinks the cat will die if he doesn’t close the toilet, so i’m jus not going to tell him otherwiseWink

You should add “Usually closed” or “Usually open.” Mine is usually open. Unless I have to sit on it while not using it, so I have to put the lid down.
