Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part 2 (I love them both equally and have since they came out) and Sleepless in Seattle. I have watched all of them multiple times in the past 2 weeks to help deal with wedding stress!

Something animated: especially Tangled, Toy Story 2 or 3, Shrek.
Or little kids’ TV, like The Wiggles.

The Harry Potter movies always work for me. Also, Pitch Perfect is a good choice because it gets me singing along. It’s not a movie, but watching any of the David Tennant episodes of Doctor Who (well, other than Doomsday) always make me smile.

Mean girls. going the distance, because it’s basically the exact same situation my now husband(!) and I were in for many years and it was so comforting to watch when we were apart. And the Muppet Movie. I saw it in the theater and totally cried when they finally opened the show and played the original theme song.

@littlemisst08: Oh my God, While You Were Sleeping! I love that movie so much! I don’t think I’ve ever even met someone else who knows that movie, haha. You’ve Got Mail is also amazing.
I’d also add The Cutting Edge (freaking LOVE that movie) and Titanic.
Anyone else have comfort books? There are some (usually romance novels or fantasy, which is super embrassing, because I’m an English lit PhD) that I will always pick up when I’m feeling down. Paradise by Judith McNaught, It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and Harry Potter 1 are some classics.

Oh, so many! Movies are definitely my comfort go-to thing.
Mean Girls
Clueless
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Any Harry Potter film
Lord of the Rings
Matilda
The Princess Bride
Disney: The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Cinderella
Anything with Hugh Grant
Maid in Manhattan (such a terrible film, but love the clothes and Ralph Fiennes)
