Just for fun, what is your "silly" dream career?

kaitlinu :  If I never had to think about money, I’d set up our property (or maybe ‘a’ property) to have accessible gardens, orchards, etc.  I’d get in with the local school districts (3 or 4) to bring their special needs students to come learn useful skills – how to grow things, harvesting, sales, what to do with their earnings, planning for the next year, greenhouse work, etc.  Teach the staff how to cater to each student’s skill – one really needs heavy work to focus?  That’s your digger.  This one is safe and remembers how to do things?  He can learn mowing and baling with a supervisor.  That one is artistic?  They can design the flower beds.  She needs to learn to count money?  Put her own the till with a supervisor.

From there, with my millions of extraneous cash, I can branch out into equine (hippo) therapy, pet therapy and/or farm animals and how to care for them.

Another dream I have, when I win the lotto, is to pick a student or two each year, probably high school aged, and arrange a field trip for them somewhere completely different from this area – something fully guided and educational as well as fun.  I think it’s really hard for the kids here to perceive a life other than what they know – desert, poor, drugs, unemployment – it’s dismal sometimes.  I’d love to show them the wide world out there, maybe their family as well if they’re good people.  Inspire them to become something more, to know that it’s feasible.

That doesn’t fall under silly, but definiltey unobtainable for me, anyway, but it would be so awesome.

I be a professional crafter. I’d have a business that made liqueurs, and sold handmade paper products, and photos I either took or curated. There would be comfy seating, and lots of artisanal yarn sourced from Canadian artists. We would have a tea latte bar where all the lattes could have good pairings with the liqueurs, and locally sourced, organic cookies, bars and food based on edible flowers. It’d be a millennial home-away-from home!

we’d be big on Instagram with inspo pics for relaxation, connecting with the earth, and being comfy and stylish. We’d sell items online to offset the cost for the storefront and distillation rooms.

Mercedes mechanic. That dream is still achievable but probably won’t happen. I also wouldn’t mind owning a small art/photography shop on Mackinac Island.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a princess, then a shark, then a sharkeologist (it’s totally a thing.) Now that I’m an adult, I just want to be a cryptozoologist. I can’t imagine a more perfect life than one that enables me to spend my days squatchin’ with my fi and our cats.

Dog trainer! Not so silly, but I’m a computer programmer so it’s far off from what I do now – it’s my ultimate dream job! I’d get to hang out with dogs all day and teach people to train their dogs, and I could set up my own business and work from home. Yep. That’d be the life! 😀

Young adult historical fiction novelist. I would relocate to new cities and stay in charming, historic houses while writing each book–ya know, to get in right mindset. And I’d obviously be wildly successful and everyone would want movie rights to all my books. IF ONLY!!

I’d be a professional hiker. Walk around and see the world… and get paid for it. Obviously much sillier than the real life jobs other posters have listed.

Ever since I found dog vacay for our pups, I’m completely obsessed with the idea of caring for dogs as a living. Having the freedom to decide which dogs to watch and getting to spend time with various breeds and personalities sounds amazing to me!

And maybe a part time paralegal from home! I’d miss legal if I left it completely.

ksn1219 :  your pompics took me back to my childhood. Growing up we only ever had poms, sally, cora, mona. My mom’s favorite breed! Super cute balls of fluff!

My dream job would be to open up a GIGANTIC nursery. Flowers, shrubs,  trees , every plant and flower known to man. Behind this nursery would be an animal farm/no kill. That kind of life would be heaven to me. A lot of work but a dream 😍
