A cute little downtown area. Mostly old homes and historic buildings that have been converted into newer restaurants and boutiques. Even the grocery store is an old post office with historical markers and all that. I can walk to just about anything (gym, grocery store, Starbucks, hair salon, bar). I love it, but I would love to live somewhere with a yard someday.

Foreverblonde345 :  you are spot on about everything you just said. We just moved from an area that sounds pretty similar to where you’re talking about and it is part of the “heroin triangle” of ATL. Still, I ran into parents everyday that pretended it didn’t exist. And then I would run into someone’s my age (25) or younger who has lost 2+ Friends in the past couple of months. Obviously it’s not just that “triangle” but that’s where all the rich, white kids are so people pretend to care more. There were close to 10 deaths and over 30 overdoses in central GA last week alone!

In one of the capital cities of Australia. We live in a suburb that isn’t considered very desirable, but it has been close to work and affordable, so we have managed to pay off our home well before we were 40! We have considered moving somewhere else, but are comfortable and our area, despite its rough reputation has excellent facilities and we haven’t had any problems.
