Just as the title says, I’m curious! What were you wearing when your SO proposed? Did know know it was coming? Were your nails done? Did you wish you’d been wearing something else? Proposal stories and pictures obviously welcome here!

My husband proposed on a camping trip by the campfire. I had on leggings, a t-shirt, and an oversized hoodie. I had on no make-up, my hair was in a messy bun, and my nails weren’t done. Absolutly no regrets! What I was wearing didn’t matter one bit.

I was wearing a Denver Broncos t-shirt and jeans because we were at a Broncos football game when I was proposed to. I wouldn’t change a thing, I love telling people I got proposed to at a football game!

Haha, much like
hikingbride : we were out in the wilderness. DH was actually just looking at photos of that day just a few minutes ago, so I saw I was wearing my Field Institute shirt, shorts, baseball cap, and hiking boots. I did not see it coming at all. But it wasn’t exactly planned, inspiration struck and he popped the question. It was perfect for us, straight from the heart in a beautiful place. I’m not really the type to care about what I’m wearing that much anyway.

Nothing the first time with first husband, short, scraggy, unpolished nails. Grey cords, rather crumpled Primark shirt and a grey coat the second time a couple of years ago.
Both times it was a total surprise.

littlemogwai : No not on the big screen, but seeing as it was a game there were tons of people there to see it! I was congratulated by random strangers haha. I was on a high because they Broncos had just won, so I was on cloud nine after he proposed! It was perfect, and we even had a friend there to record the whole thing. I loved it.

It was a Sunday and my boys were out {I later learned he had given them money to go to the movies that afternoon}. We were having a movie marathon in bed and I was wearing flannel drawstring pants and a waffle texture shirt, no make up. He stopped the tv between movies, went to the kitchen for ice cream, came back with ice cream, a bottle of chamagne and a velvet drawstring bag with the family engagement ring. hmm; ice cream, champagne andjewelry. My man knows me all too well!

arosebyanyothername : Now that’s my kind of engagement! Now I want ice cream…
karen12 : NICE! …did he have the ring in the shower with him? For some reason, I would be terrified of the ring dropping down the drain in that scenario!!

I was wearing my graduation gown! He “went to go get the car” while I was taking pics with my family after the graduation ceremony. A few mins later I was walking down the stairs and he was at the bottom of the staircase, on the last step on one knee. I wasn’t able to see him until I was extremely close due my family walking in front of me to hide it. I had a feeling something was up because we drove my car that day and when he “went to get the car”, I saw my keys/lanyard hanging out my purse and it’s not like I have a second set of car keys. I did in fact have my nails, hair and makeup done (because of my graduation), but it was such a perfect proposal! My family was just as surprised as I was, besides the few that were knew ahead of time.

emelling : Aww, that’s so sweet that your whole family was there and that some of them were in on it! And what a special day for you, to both graduate AND get engaged on the same day!
