So far save the dates. Only $34 but I still think they were totally unnecessary and a complete waste. No one in our circle does this, I didn’t even know they existed until coming to WB. 😩 Also, an outdoor dance floor is a potential waste of $. My father offered to pay for the remainder of our wedding bc it would mean a lot to him. Had he known it was nowhere near my sisters $15k+ wedding he would have paid for everything. We agreed but I’m regretting it a little. All I wanted was a short and sweet, casual, low key afternoon in the park with 40 people or less. Now the guest list is up to 50, we’ve got some funky chiavari chairs that cost $9.95 each (also a bit wasteful but at least I like the look) and my parents are pushing for a dance floor quote. Now I’m picturing my mom and sister electric sliding to Atomic Dog on an early Sunday afternoon. 😦

teddserberry :  this is hilarious! I read the first half of what you wrote and thought, what the heck does a cat dish have to do with this post? Then I read the rest, and yeah- that’s pretty much the cutest thing ever! It’s cute that you were so excited that you wanted your cat to share in the day πŸ™‚

Signs that said something like “Forever starts today” with names and an arrow pointing the direction to the wedding. They were to be placed on the road so people knew where to turn. It wasn’t until I started staking them into the ground that I realized no matter how I set the signs the arrow was pointed in the wrong direction.

Oh boy, where do I start.

I wanted to DIY our invites to save money, spent about 200$ on different papers, stamps, craft punches, envelopes, ribbons… ended up just ordering invites off vistaprint for 40$ lol.

and chairs. Chiavari chairs. It’s literally the DUMBEST thing to spend money on but I have this perfect vision of a garden wedding in my head and the banquet chairs just looked so out of place. So yeah, I’m spending over 1000$ to have “pretty” chairs. Stupid I know. But I’m justifying it by DIYing lots of stuff and cutting costs in other places. That’s what I tell myself so I can sleep at night πŸ˜‚

I wanted to have some potted plants on either side of our arbor/ceremony arch. I bought sone planters online to put potted mums in, except I didn’t look at the sizes. When they were delivered I realized how tiny they were! I had purchased 6 total and couldn’t use any of them because they were way too small but also couldn’t return them due to final sales. I still have them sitting in our spare bedroom and no idea what I could use them for πŸ˜‘

Luckily they weren’t expensive but I hate the waste, and having extra junk around

wildflowergypsy :  A local woman makes them and sells them at craft fairs!  It’s probably a silly purchase since he doesn’t care in the least what dish his food comes in, but Bean is our baby and we wanted to include him in Mommy and Daddy’s wedding!

wildflowergypsy :  I insisted that I needed wedding favors, and I ordered these adorable little tree seedlings (one for each person), and while they were very cute and unique, hardly any actually survived (I had 3 left over after the wedding and they all died). One person has shown me that their’s actually grew.

I bought a bunch of chair sashes at a bridal store close out sale right after we got engaged. Fast forward to now and not only am I not inviting anywhere near the amount of people I bought sashes for, but I’m also not using chair covers or sashes because I love the chairs that are already there. And I’m having no luck selling them either. It was only about $130 but I’m kicking myself for getting too far ahead of myself at the start. Otherwise I’ve been pretty good about spending.Β

teddserberry :  our cat is named Bean, too! It’s actually Lorna, but somehow Fiance and I called her bean sprout one day, which turned to Bean
