Name hangers. Biggest waste of money for one picture I could’ve bought cheap ones and fancied them up for the price I paid for for one of these hangers.

Eco-friendly, fire-proof wish lanterns that the city council has put a ban on!

Also, these were bought for the Wedding Shower, not the actual wedding, but they’re too cute not to share (though slightly ridiculous!).  I wanted my Piggies to look their best for the shower!

I LOVE all this stuff for pets 😂

At the very start of wedding planning I wanted coloured napkins but didn’t want to rent them, so bought a load of “linen feel” disposables. I was convinced they’d look amazing…

they got delivered to work and even the most manly bloke in the team who wouldn’t know wedding decor if it bit him on the arse said they were hideous 🤣 we ended up using the white napkins from the venue. It was only £30 wasted at least. I’ve no idea what I did with them

We were pretty careful and I think in general we spent wisely and didn’t waste money. However, I wish we hadn’t stayed at the venue the night after the wedding, and that we’d booked to stay the following weekend instead. The room was like £270 for the night, and we were so hungover we just couldn’t enjoy it. So that was a pretty big waste, and in hindsight we should have realised we’d feel awful the next day as we do like to party! (we went to bed at 7am…)

wildflowergypsy :  Councils! They say it’s a fire hazard, but these lanterns are flame retardant and made right here in NZ. I guess it’s just a blanket ban on lanterns and they can’t be bothered actually looking into it on a case-by-case basis. I was SO disappointed because I wanted those floaty lantern photos, but life goes on and I plan to use them in our new city for a future event 😊

teddserberry :  The cat bowl thing is just to funny! But it shouldn’t be in the “waste of money” thread. It should be in the “totally worth it and awesome things I bought” thread.

For me, I made a menu on vistaprint, ordered it, then the next day we had a last minute change of menu. So I reordered. It was $60 each for the orders. Then before they came I realised the looked hideous so I ordered a third set of menus. Also for $60.

Also, I ordered silver heart rock candy bags for favours. But when they came, they tasted a bit average. So I ordered a different flavour. But due to a delivery mix up, the new flavour didn’t come in time and I ended up using the first lot. On a related note, does anyone need 70 small bags of red heart rock candy?

wildflowergypsy :  I mean some people would say my dog’s wedding dress and veil but I thought it was totally worth it just for the pics lol. Never seen a more mad shih-tzu face in my life
