Beer is the big one but a tube of cookie dough would be a close 2nd!

I told my sister that she should be expecting to be sent on a sushi run to my favorite restaurant as soon as the baby is born.  Salmon sashimi and spicy tuna rolls, here I come!!  An italian sub is a close second, so maybe we’ll make that my second meal…

I’ve been a bad prego lady. If I want a pop, I have half a glass.

If I want coffee, I have half a mug.

If I want a cold cut sub, I have a damn sandwich.

The only things I’ve 100% cut out is alcohol and cookie dough. When I’m feeling desperate I steal my MIL’s glass of cabernet and sniff it real good πŸ˜‰ Going through the holidays without either? That was terrible! πŸ™‚

I definitely plan on having cookie dough. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm….

Sushi and pinot noir!!! OMG I can’t freakin wait!

I have a half can of Pepsi or a few sips of coffee when I feel like it, but everything else has been a no go for me. Wine is going to be so amazing when I can finally have some.

@KansasPrincess11:    I’m with you, sort of.  I just had a small latte this morning (full caffeine) and occasionally I want a Coke so I have one.   And on the odd occasion over the holidays, I had a small glass of wine.   I have refrained from all deli meat though and avoid raw eggs (cookie dough, brownie mix, etc), even though I’ve been baking up a storm.

I’ve already told DH he will need to run to the deli and get me some proper deli shaved ham and a baguette – I don’t even want it in a sandwich, I just want to nosh into it like a savage.  Following it up with an ice cold beer would be nice too but that might have to wait until after hospital.  And on the agenda when I get home – whipping up a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough with lots of sampling to be done by me before they go in the oven!  πŸ™‚

June can’t come soon enough!

One of my Mum’s amazing ham and egg sandwiches.  Or maybe a chicken and bacon ranch sub.  Mmmmmmm

A french brie and wine, though I am going to paris in 3 weeks and will probably have both of these, in small quantities then.

this post is making me feel a little guilty, cause that is about all I have given up, I still have deli meat if its fresh, I had a raw salmon/avocado sushi roll today for lunch. I have caffeine if i feel like it (but generally I dont).

I am amazed how many ladies here restrain from so much. While I totally respect it, and understand why, my doctor had such a laid back approach, and told me if I wanted to have a pop, to drink a diet, and if I wanted to have a sandwich with deli meat at work then go for it. My son is healthy as a clam! ( Not that I am encouraging drinking pop, or eating deli meats).

As for me what I really wanted during my pregnancy was a glass of red wine. I think it took me a couple of months before having that! My first meal was a sandwich from the hospital cafeteria about 15 minutes after delivery. It was so plain, but SO good, because I hadn’t eaten in about 16 hours.

A turkey and brie sandwich with a Saranac beer, and/or a rare steak with a glass of red wine. I’ve had bites/sips of all of this (at Christmas) but I felt guilty for weeks. I don’t feel guilty about the occasional soda (I had a Coke today–a real one, not a Caffeine-Free Diet Coke) or cup of coffee, because I very rarely indulge.

the only thing i have given up entirely during pregnancy is alcohol and raw fish.

i still eat sub sandwiches occasionally, and have coffee/soda rarely as well.

i guess the only thing i will really be craving is a massive sushi roll.

@KansasPrincess11:  hahaha! Same here! When my husband saw me posting in this thread, he asked why so many women were waiting to eat their favorite foods – because obviously I’ve followed no rules at all… oops!

I haven’t really wanted coffee all that much, so I’ve had it MAYBE 1-2x a month, but if I wanted it, I didn’t deny myself.

I also ate plenty of cold-cut sandwiches. I even had sushi for my birthday, but made sure it was cooked πŸ˜‰ I had wine over Christmas, and to appeal to my beer craving, I have been making beer bread religiously – love it! I totally eat unpasteurized cheeses (because we already buy raw milk, and the thinking is if you’re not used to eating unpasteurized, you’re more likely to develop bacterial infection or something), and if I wanted caffeine/pop I would have some. I’ve had a few mountain dews, not many.

It’s all about moderation πŸ™‚ and I wasn’t  going to make myself miserable over all the things I couldn’t have.

Okay, and totally missed the raw eggs thing.. oops! Cause I’ve SO been eating cookine dough whenever I make it… yes… bad preggo lady award here, it’s okay πŸ˜‰

I’m not pregnant but I *imagine* I’d want lots of sushi and wine.

Seriously the thought of having to give these two things up just to have a baby makes me question having kids.

Which is probably why I have no business having a child right now. I’m just too selfish and I love sushi and wine too much.
